While trying to hang out and play cards on their day off, three guys are interrupted by their girlfriends, resulting in a spirited and witty dialogue about life, love, and relationships. ‘Tryna Play Some Cards’ portrays a day in the life of the middle-class black community of south Los Angeles. Framed by references to black intellects and pop culture icons, the film explores the socialization organized around the ritual of playing cards, and delivers a witty commentary amplifying the amusing differences between men and women. |
