After impounding a neglected dog, a small town dogcatcher begins the process of trying to find it a new home. Initially unsuccessful, she soon grows attached to the dog and decides to take it home with her. Unable to keep it for a variety of reasons, the dogcatcher turns to her friends, family, and finally, the S.P.C.A. for help. Faced with little to no options, she must confront the nature of her work and her character in deciding what will ultimately become of her new friend.
