Five years on from forming his school skiffle group Liverpool tearaway John Lennon is still no nearer breaking through to the big time. But in Paul McCartney he has found a kindred spirit even more driven to succeed in the cut throat world of show business. In late ‘62 manager Brian Epstein has finally secured a record deal with EMI. The Beatles for a tantalising moment have their shot at fame and fortune. But there’s a major problem with the contract, the debut single’s not strong enough, as tension mounts a rift between band and management gets out of hand…Hold on tight for a helter skelter ride into an all too believable parallel universe as we pose the question - “What if Lennon and McCartney had never made it?” |
