Details:

Eye witness accounts by those that lived to tell the tale of what many call ‘The Storm of the Century.’ The Cape Islanders who witnessed the storm that virtually demolished Cape May’s beach front and destroyed its beautiful 1917 Convention Hall and pier. And, just off shore from Cape May brave but seasick sailors battled that same storm that came very close to sinking their destroyer, the USS Charles R. Ware (DD-865).
