Details:

The arrival of the Cuban revolution leader Fidel Castro in the USSR in April 1963 was carefully hidden, but as soon as he arrived in Murmansk, people with cameras literally followed him. And thanks to this, today we have the opportunity to see how the Cuban leader traveled throughout the Soviet Union for 40 days, from the northern to the southern latitudes of the country, from Severodvinsk to Khiva in Uzbekistan. The Bolshoi Theater in honor of the Prime Minister of Cuba showed the ballet Swan Lake, in the role of Odette - Maya Plisetskaya. He was the first foreign leader to be given such a high honor not only to appear on the podium of the Mausoleum on Workers’ Day on May 1, but also to receive the Order of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
