Details:

Edgar thinks that $100 is too much to pay for a new hot-water heater, and buys a used one for $39.99, pays $21.50 for needed accessories and then pays for help in getting the heater to his home. While installing it, Edgar manages to drench the man delivering his suit from the cleaners; sprays water over his brother-in-law, and is forced to hire the gardener to help him. The building inspector shows up after it is installed, at a cost of $172, and fines Edgar $50 for practicing plumbing without a license, $25 for having no installation permit, and then orders Edgar to remove it as it is a fire hazard. When it is removed, the walls of his house fall down.
