After witnessing her mother struggle with drug addiction, Jem Greene is placed in foster care. Once joining her new family, Jem struggles with her new life without her biological mother. Unable to deal with these drastic life changes, Jem runs away in search of the mother and home she has recently lost. When her foster family chases after her in an attempt to find her, Jem realizes that she has finally found a safe place she can call home. She ends her efforts of escaping her new home, and in turn, accepts her new found family. |
