She arrives at a hillbilly settlement, and the locals buy her wares and put them to odd uses; a woman uses a waffle iron to pet a permanent wave in her hair’ a man buys an outboard motor and hitches it to a plow, and the finales has Betty leading the town band as the members play their home-made instruments. |
