Joe ‘Joe Cook (I)’ )qv))is an assistant in the sound-effects department of a radio station and is prone to producing the wrong effects. But he gets the chance to work as the announcer on a program when all the other station announcers are intimidated into quitting in a feud between the station-owner and the town’s mayor. But he is threatened with death if he broadcasts a speech that accusing the mayor of corruption. He appears for the program wearing an armor suit, and holds off the mayor and his two henchmen. The tussle is interwoven with the audition-program for a whale-oil manufacturer as the sponsor. |
