But, six days a year, this birding paradise is transformed into a battleground. It becomes home to one of the country’s biggest bird hunts — the Pelee Island Pheasant Hunt. Overnight, the island’s tiny community of 300 is overrun by some 2,100 hunters. Why do islanders allow it?
