The band The Unsatisfied are profiled in “Ambition Withdraw” is an award winning epic documentary, which follows 15 years of the band’s career. The Unsatisfied (best described as a talented and intense alternative indie party-rock/glam-gothic punk recording act, from Chattanooga, Tenn, U.S.A.) is the super-sonic creation of the charismatic lead singer/composer (and actor): Eric Scealf, whose tenacious ambitions are the basis for the rockumentary. Scealf’s goal is for his band to make it huge internationally, but, as 15 + years wear on, time, age and family commitment wear on the not-so-young band members(who are constantly getting ever older than their market audience), but who’s hard-edged musical bent are really more artistic and spiritual than commercial. The Unsatisfied’s struggle for recognition, makes for a fascinating story. The doc assembles current and vintage concert footage, interviews, community TV coverage, multi-media home movies, and various music video sequences. This cult rock documentary is raw, up-close and honest study about Eric about the band member’s mini successes & hardships ( the bitch-work day jobs, wives, kids, audience attendance etc). Ambition Withdraw is also hosted by Dr. Gangrene, horror-host of an actual low budget Nashville-based UHF horror movie TV show. The amazing soundtrack expresses all the angst and stress that come from Scealf’s self-proclaimed “white trash” background , and his refusal to compromise his and the guitar-rock group’s music’s artistic, underground appeal.
