Details:

This short film is a four season look at the active life in the Tyrol region of Austria, where the locals live by centuries of tradition. In the winter, many people flock to the area to view or partake in sports, mostly of the Nordic variety. It is the down season for the large number of locals who work in agriculture, they who instead are tending to the wildlife who may not survive the winter otherwise, or dealing with the bounty of the previous season. Both pagan and religious celebrations mark the arrival of spring, when the countryside seems to awaken from winter. Spring and summer marks the busiest season for locals, but there are no less tourists who flock to the area for outdoor activities such as golf, boating on the many lakes, or mountain climbing. At the end of the season, another festival celebrates the return of the cattle into the lowlands from the mountain pastures, where they have spent the summer grazing. Autumn is hunting season, which is part of the cycle of life as many animals would not be able to survive the impending winter. The Tyrol is not all about the outdoors, as its cities are vibrant year ‘round.
