Jennifer, shattered, tries to hold the family together. Godfrey takes over the funeral and thankfully passes the Royston defence back to the Crown Solicitor's office. Robert discovers that a large sum of money in Bill's safekeeping has vanished. After the funeral, Jennifer approaches Godfrey about the Royston defence. Angry at her interference, he tells her that Bill has apparently embezzled a large sum of money from a client. Furthermore, other sums have mysteriously disappeared without explanation from Bill's accounts. Jennifer's financial position is precarious. |
