In an anonymous mountain town, 17-year-old Maria, a high school senior, dreams of becoming a dancer. Her daydreams stop when she becomes pregnant by her boyfriend, Tassos, a young man who has spent his whole life working in the only gas station in the city. Until Joe appears in her life - a boy who stands out from the conservative environment of the local community.
