The Serpent Queen (2022)

This is such a warts-and-all historical dramedy, with snark and sarcasm all over the place. People, even the royals, are shown to have feet of clay, with all the meanness, insecurity, jealousy, and guile of humans in every era. A perfect vehicle for Samantha Morton, who can do “nutty and savage” like no one else LOL.

I notice more and more shows breaking the proscenium, with frank and funny asides to the audience at just the right times - so funny! I’m enjoying the ride, as the innocent receive their life lessons in treachery at the hands of experience, time - and the other SOBs they meet.
