Rhys-Meyers always brings something interesting to his roles, so when I saw his name attached, I figured on some fun and exciting takes on a plane-in-jep plot. There are a lot of those around; some better than others, but with Rhys-Meyers and Alec Baldwin in the cast, what could go wrong? Well, this film does have some tense moments, some hard-to-believe moments, and several plot holes and a twist or two, but overall, you get the feeling of a pretty generic SyFy entry, sadly. It’s as if the viewer has come in in the middle of the tale; the minimal backstory that we DO get is choppy and piecemeal, and the story might have been more involving if we’d come into the lives of the protagonists a little earlier. Rhys-Meyers is the most captivating part of the film and he brings the whole production up a notch. I mainly stuck with it because I wanted to see his character’s story arc. Others in the movie, not so much. All in all, a one-time watch.
