Terrific series! It’s the Korean version of “Walking Dead” but set in Ancient Korea

Better Call Saul (2015)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

Such a great show and a well done Prequel to “Breaking Bad”. Love how this series gives you a breakdown of how Saul Goodman came into being…not to mention an excellent cast and love how the show brings back quite a few of the characters from Breaking Bad as well.

This is a wonderful story with wonderful actors, wonderful scenery and wonderful CGI.
It’s just wonderful.

What a gorgeous man and terrific actor Ray Stevenson was.
He has quite the library of movies. I will miss him. RIP Ray Stevenson

Arcangel2020 2 points 8 months ago.

He was such a terrific & versatile actor. A few of the fims/roles I liked him in were “Punisher” (way better than the one with Thomas Jane) and “Kill The Irishman”

The Book of Boba Fett (2021) S1 E2
Mandalorian 2 points 2 years ago.

If you ever watched Dances with Wolves or The last Samurai, Then you’ve already watched The book of Boba Fett. I had high hopes but they are totally ripping off those movies.

Arcangel2020 2 points 2 years ago.

Well…if you’re going to go that route? Then you should realize that “The Last Samurai” was basically a rip-off of the old 70ies era mini-series “Shogun”.
You could also say that the movie “Water World” was a rip off “The Road Warrior”, “Avatar” was “Dances With Wolves” with a Sci Fi theme..etc, etc.

The Ordeal of Dr. Mudd (1980)
Arcangel2020 2 points 2 years ago.

Funny thing, I once worked at a job with a co-worker whose last name was Mudd and when I made the comment/joke about where the old saying “My name is Mudd” came from in a historical reference? She then told me that her Great, Great Grandfather was indeed Dr. Mudd and she told me about how her family went through the ordeal of trying to clear the Dr. Mudd and the family name right up until 2005/2006 (I think). It was pretty cool to hear her talk about her family history and the ordeal they went through and how long it took to officially clear Dr. Mudd of any wrong doing by the Government.

Wanted Man (2024)
greyfur 2 points 4 months ago.

Going to have to watch this, watched the trailer, and it looked really good. Always felt like both Dolph and Pare were both rather under rated for their work, and esp. Pare, he never really got a decent shot as he never got a decent enough part to give him a shot at doing the kind of work that would have given him that ‘break out’ part.

Then when I saw that Kelsey Grammer was in this, yeah, it was a must watch for me. I honestly don’t ever recall him doing parts like this before. I may be wrong on that, just don’t recall it.

Arcangel2020 2 points 4 months ago.

Michael Pare did several 80ies era films that were kinda memorable..”The Philadelphia Experiment”; “Streets of Fire”, “Eddie and The Cruisers” come to mind whenever I see his name mentioned as part of the cast of a movie..which have typically been really bad straight to Video or VOD in the past and now all the third and fourth rate streaming platforms out there

The Book of Boba Fett (2021) S1 E4
dashea 5 points 2 years ago.

… now Boba Fett says mate??
Lord have mercy on this series, it has suffered too much.

Arcangel2020 2 points 2 years ago.

You have an “issue” with Boba Fett saying the word “Mate”?
Nothing wrong with it…just like there was nothing wrong with the constant usage of the phrase “I’ve got a bad feeling about this…” which was used by everyone..Jedi and Non-Jedi or the phrase “From a certain point of view” etc, etc…
Roight! Carry on, mate.

Young Sheldon (2017)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I really LIKE this series a lot. The cast, the storylines…every episode I’ve watched so far is pretty hysterical and I like how “Big Bang Theory” fans are able to see the funny backstory of Sheldon Cooper and his family living in Texas.

Silent Night (2023)
Piglet 1 points 5 months ago.

Joel Kinnamen from For All Mankind is in this movie. I might give it a go on December 1st.

Arcangel2020 2 points 5 months ago.

I like Joel Kinnamen, he’s a good actor. He was terrific in the first (and best) season of “Altered Carbon”, “House of Cards” and in the surprisngly good remake of “Robocop” too.

Army of the Dead (2021)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Definitely looking forward to seeing this one! I really liked what he and James Gunn did as far as the remake of “Dawn of the Dead” went and everything I have heard about this one so far? is that it is totally over the top and gory in a good way.

I Am Legend 2
dbob 1 points 9 days ago.

I like seeing things blow up just as much as the next guy maybe more… But for this show I prefer the slow burn of the of the 1971 version.

Arcangel2020 2 points 8 days ago.

Right? I mean let’s face it, the 1971 remake with Charlton Heston as the lead/main character in the classic 70ies era, dystopian film “The Omega Man” (along with Soylent Green; Silent Running, Rollerball, Death Race 2000 just to name a few films that come to mind) is STILL better than the horrible 2007 (Crappy CGI effects) remake with Will Smith. The only thing that the 2007 version had going for it was the Post-Apocalypic scenes of Manhatten, NY

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

I am hoping for the best, that this new series of Star Trek will more along the lines of the shows like Picard, Star Trek The Next Generation and DS9 which are/were my favorites to watch (along with the Original Series, of course) and not the horrible mess that Discovery is (I watched..nay..forced myself to watch the first season and it was SO bad…I mean, really BAD).

Society of the Snow (2024)

Twice isn’t several. I’ve already outlined how this differs from those 2 movies and why I think that makes it worth watching, but that choice is yours to make.

Arcangel2020 1 points 2 months ago.

Ah, but twice is more than once..so technically it IS “several”

The UFO Battle of Los Angeles (2023)
Arcangel2020 1 points 1 month ago.

This was an incident that was caused by a couple Alien Grey “teenagers” out for an interplanetary “Joy Ride” with their parents spacecraft. This was addressed by (then) President Eisenhower during the Roswell Alien-Earth Peace Accords held in secret at Camp David. Can’t talk about the details, but I was there.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee (2016)

No need to waste your time watching this series. Samantha Bee is about as funny as a 10 car pile up on an Interstate and nothing she does on any of the episodes of her show are original or innovative.

The Kitchen (2024)

The Kitchen..The Baker..The Beekeeper..The Painter
I am now waiting for the next and most logical film title..”What The” lol

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024)
Piglet 3 points 5 months ago.

Thank you for the trailer and just watched it. OMG! These are not the Godzilla Kong movies of our childhood to say the least. How far they’ve come over the decades is amazing! Even though stop action movies were the hottest thing around back then, it is amazing what CGI and other computer technologies can do for a tv show/movie.

Arcangel2020 1 points 1 month ago.

The awesome (and Campy) Godzilla (aka Gojira) movies from the 6oies, 70ies, 80ies & 90ies era were all classic Actor in an iconic Rubber Monster suit. Loved watching all the English dubbed Godzilla movies as a kid on Saturday afternoons “Chiller Diller Matinee” or “Creature Features” with host Bob Wilkens growing up in The SF Bay area (Also loved the 70ies era Ultra Man and Space Giants tv shows too). True Gojira (Godzilla) fans do not speak of the horrible 1997 “Godzilla” film with Matthew Broderick in it…lol
With that said, I have enjoyed the newer Legendary Studios/ToHo studios team up of Godzilla and the who Monarch-Titans storyline/Universe building over the past few years.

The First Omen (2024)
Arcangel2020 1 points 1 month ago.

How many Omens do we really need? There was the original Omen trilogy back in the 70ies, then there was the “meh” remake back in the early 00’s with Liev Shrieber and Julia Styles in it.
It seems like it is like the Exorcist series of movies…it.never.ends! LOL

Walker (2021)
PonderThis 1 points 3 years ago*.

I didn’t watch Walker, Texas Ranger but I’m willing to give this new drama a go.

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

You’re totally missing out! You really should watch the old Chuck Norris version of “Walker: Texas Ranger”. I never watched it during the series initial first airing on network TV however, I have enjoyed watching the cheesy-bad/its great goodness that it has become (it’s a lot like watching the old CHIPS or Charlies Angels or Renegade shows from the 70ies and 90ies era) plus also…it’s Chuck Norris who is a total “God” too (LOL!!)

The Horror of H.P. Lovecraft (2006)

Don’t even bother with this one. It’s absolutely a total waste of time.

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness (2020)

Star Worms II: Attack of the Pleasure Pods (1985)
Arcangel2020 1 points 4 months ago.

Wow! This movie IS amazing! Outstanding Acting, incredible storyline, groundbreaking Special Effects. incredible sounding soundtrack (highly recommend getting the 8 Track version for maximum, crystal clarity)! Why this one didn’t win a dozen Oscars for the year 1985, is astounding!

Songbird (2020)
Jhigh03 1 points 3 years ago.

I thought so too. And it’s not just IMBD trolls, the online reviews have been trashing this non-stop. I’m pretty sure there’s an anti Michel Bay campaign of some kind. Alot called this in poor taste and opportunistic, which, ok fair. But how bout the logistics of filming this in lockdown. And the pretty great cast they were able to pull together .

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I totally agree with your “I’m pretty sure there’s an Anti-Michael Bay campaign” comment. Michael Bay is like..Zach Snyder, JJ Abrams, George Lucas and several other Directors that all have a built-in, automatic Hater base/Online Trolls who will trash a movie or tv show if it has their names on it without even having watched. Also, these are the SAME individuals who will trash a film by Bay or who trashed the Star Wars and new Star Trek films..but I can almost guarantee 100% that they are the same ones who went to Midnight Screenings/First showings or went to see the film opening weekend too

Dune (1984)
Arcangel2020 1 points 1 month ago.

If you are a fan of the Classic Sci-Fi Novel of the same name? Do yourself a favor and do NOT watch this horrible movie.
If you DO watch this movie? Make sure you have a Fire Extinguisher nearby, because it is a Garbage Dumpster on fire.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This one was SO bad on SO many levels that even Hugh Jackman as the title character couldn’t save it. Thankfully, the other Wolverine movies (“The Wolverine” and “Logan”) as well as the “Deadpool” movie with Ryan Reynolds would erase the bad memory/taste this movie let Marvel movie fans with…lol

Interview with the Vampire (2022)
grasshopper rex 15 points 1 year ago*.

Yeah, those horrible “based on the novel by…” series. Game of Thrones, The Witcher, Good Omens, Watchmen, Dexter, A Handmaid’s Tale. I love how people speak as if their opinion is the definitive one. Given that Rice has sold over 130 million books, I doubt she is losing sleep at night because you don’t like her work. Comparing Rice’s books to Lumley’s is like comparing apples to oranges. Yeah, they’re both fruits, but they taste nothing alike. Some prefer apples, some oranges. Some like one, but have no like for the other and just because you don’t care for something doesn’t mean that it has no value.

Arcangel2020 1 points 1 year ago.

Never once did I state that all movies and tv series with the mention of “Based on the Novel by..” were terrible, merely that it is a “Red Flag” (and often disappointing to the fans of the novel/novel series). Second of all…never stated that my opinion here was the “definitive one”, that was your interpretation. Yeah, I am sure that Anne Rice isn’t losing any sleep over any opposing views about her novels, since she has been dead for quite a while.
As far as Brian L:umley’s work and his Vampires characters? They make Anne Rice’s vampires look like the characters out of “Twilight”.

Scanners (1981)

Total Classic 80ies Horror gem from Director Cronenberg! Love this movie.

WandaVision (2021)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I liked this limited run series. It’s a “slow burn” but highly recommend you stick with it until the end and especially watch everything that happens in the last episode (there are Bumpers at the end that may led to both Captain Marvel 2 and Dr Strange 2)

Snowfall (2017)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Another great series from FX! Just like with “The Shield”, “Sons of Anarchy” and “Justified” FX Network ha hit the ball out of the park with this one.
This show is very well done..the storyline is terrific and based on real events and the cast is really good too.
Highly recommend it to anyone who has yet to watch/binge watch it.

The Book of Boba Fett (2021) S1 E6
UGuess 1 points 2 years ago.

More great info. I do feel the primewire love LOL!…So I assume the first is Star Wars 1, 2 etc..? I will begin this journey this weekend

Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Yes, definitely begin with the Prequel series, pausing in between Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith to watch the animated Clone Wars series. After Revenge of the Sith? Watch Rogue One (I would even recommend Solo too, which I liked) and segue way that into Star Wars: A New Hope and the rest of the original trilogy.

The Collective (2023)
Piglet 1 points 7 months ago.

Looks interesting and I’ve always liked Don Johnson…..back in the day, he was easy on the eyes…..and still not bad to look at in the 21st century……😉😄😁

Arcangel2020 1 points 5 months ago.

One of THE greatest movies ever? “Harley Davidson and The Marlborough Man”! LOL
Seriously though, its a total cheesy guilty pleasure of mine I like to watch from time to time :)

Naked Lunch (1992)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Oddly enough? This very odd, very strange movie makes more sense than the damn book written by Burroughs! LOL (Man, I read that novel back in the 90ies and it gave me a headache even though it is considered a seminal piece of work by the author)

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (2021) S1 E4
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

So far? I am pretty impressed with this series, unlike “WandaVision” (which was most definitely a “slow burn” but worth it if you stick with it..imho.)? This series has started out strong and episode has not disappointed.
This fourth episode? The ending? All I have to say is…Wow! Can’t wait to see how then next episode plays out!

The Sandman (2022)
Arcangel2020 1 points 1 year ago.

This is an excellent series! Really enjoyed watching all 10 episodes. I never read “The Sandman” Graphic novel or comics back in the 90ies era, but everyone I knew/know who did? Raved about how excellent it was…so, when it came time to watch this show? I didn’t really know a lot about the character or the premise/storyline.
Looking forward to a season 2

Highlander (1992)

There can only BE one!

Flash Gordon (1980)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Such a classic 1980ies era Sci Fi movie!
Sure the acting is campy by today’s modern standards…but I mean come ON! You have Max Von Sydow (RIP) playing a terrific Ming The Merciless, Sam Jones as Flash Gordon, Melody Anderson as Dale..plus some 80ies era hot looking European actresses and pretty cool special effects too. But the really GREAT thing about this movie? The soundtrack performed and scored by the rock band “Queen”.

If you like Mindhunter, check this series out. FBI agent Robert Ressler was involved in the main interview. A very well put together Documentary where you might actually learn a thing or two you did not know before about this bizarre case.

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really liked “Mindhunter” and it was total BS that Netflix cancelled such a terrific series, it had such incredible potential too. Thanks for suggesting this one and looking forward to watching it.

The Blues Brothers (1980)

Such a classic movie on SO many levels. Pure comedic Gold! So many memorable lines to quote and the musician cameos and the soundtrack throughout the movie are great! This movie (along with the classic “Young Frankenstein”) ALWAYS makes laugh uproariously every.single.time I watch it.

Burn Notice (2007)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago*.

A terrific show! I really liked the fact that it was not only filmed here in South Florida (like Dexter) but a lot of the location settings were authentic as well (Nothing drives me more up the wall than when a movie or tv show pretends to be set in a location/location I’ve lived in/worked and it is obviously totally fake OR wrong). Great storylines and an terrific cast as well.

Mission of the Shark: The Saga of the U.S.S. Indianapolis (1991)
Alien 2 points 3 years ago.

This is a harrowing and sad tale, to say the least. I wouldn’t mind seeing a remake but only if it had as much heart as this one. You can’t skimp on compassion just to prove the old adage “War is hell.”

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago*.

There is another film about this tragic, war time Naval incident that was made back in 2016 “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage” with Nicholas Cage, Thomas Jane and Tom Sizemore in it.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Terrific film! Loved how this one brought both the Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man Characters back..Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Sandman and even the two villains who I hated in the Amazing Spider-Man series because I thought they were so badly done..Lizard and Elektro (Sidenote..The Lizard was one of my favorite villains from the comicbooks). I thought the storyline was really well DONE and I was pleasantly surprised at how big of a part that Dr. Strange had in the movie too.
I do have a question about that one Bumper scene at the end…I was a bit confused..so will Tom Hardy be back as Venom, again? Or was that a way for another movie to have a different person become the next Venom?
