These types of stories used to be SciFi, Now they are based on true events. Scary stuff. I’m hooked. 7.8/10

Watching these stories is my guilty pleasure and this particular one is a doozy, The statement that a missing person is more important than a bank robbery and should be treated as such by authorities is a thought that will stay with me.

Painkiller Jane is a fictional character, a comic book heroine created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada for publication by Event Comics/Icon Comics (Marvel) in 1995. To date, Painkiller Jane has been published all over the world in at least 8 languages.

Which was the basis for the 2005 Sci Fi Channel TV Movie Painkiller Jane, starring Emmanuelle Vaugier as Jane Browning, a young soldier.

Then reinvented in this short-lived Sci Fi Channel TV Series , starring Kristanna Loken as Jane Vasco, a DEA Agent.

The comics have also been the basis for new potential films and television series and in 2016, were reportedly in discussion with Jessica Chastain as a possible new Painkiller Jane.

I have watched this movie many times and enjoyed it throughly. 8/10

The film is a direct sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, the film that helped establish Cruise as an official Hollywood star. It’s set 34 years later, with Cruise reprising his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, now a flight instructor at the Topgun, the Navy’s Fighter Weapons School at Naval Air Station Miramar. There, he’s teaching the son of his late partner, Nick “Goose” Bradshaw, who’s following in his father’s footsteps. There are plenty of callbacks to the original film in the trailer as well — Cruise on a motorcycle, playing volleyball, and of course, flying fighter jets.

Agreed. The Syfy version was shite While the second installment where they combined Dune Messiah and The Children of Dune I could tolerate. James Mcavoy and Jessica Brooks were no where near as bad in the lead roles. While I know the Lynch version took more that a few liberties I enjoyed it still wishing that Jodorowsky had had the chance to do it first. They even used some of Gigers art on Caladan and on Giedi Prime. I will tell you if you have not heard that Dune is being remade by Denis Villeneuve and I am so hopeful. The casting looks great and I am a huge Villeneuve fan and I can hardly wait. Being one of my favorite book series I know nothing can beat what I have imagined, but I do admit to wanting to see this.

DUNE - One of my very favorite sci-fi universes. I LOVED the book and waited so impatiently for the next installment to be released so I could return to this wonderful world I was so excited when I heard they were making the movie in the ‘80s then proceeded to HATE everything about it especially the casting of Paul. Now. here we are, 20 yrs later, and I still HATE the casting. I do not believe anyone involved has even read DUNE, except for the writers. The story is unfolding pretty much true to form but the acting, the actors, etc, is/are GARBAGE. It hurts my heart. 4/10

I have always been intrigued by San Francisco’s Chinatown especially the time period portrayed in this new series. My fascination with time and place will keep me watching even though this first episode was not as good as I had hoped. 6.5/10

I am very glad I stayed with this one. It gets better every week. It is making a grand sweeping tale of the beginnings of Chinatown. If not true in every word I have no doubt it is true in spirit. Give a man power over his fellow man and you will make monsters. 8/10

I became aware of this series waiting on my weekly “Warrior” fix. Someone made an off-hand remark in chat - “Well ‘Romulus’ is airing a new Ep tonight” The title intrigued me so I gave it a go. I found the first two eps gut wrechingly fascinatnting, bloody, and brutal, but I could not look away. I binged the first four eps that night and came away feeling lucky I had escaped with my life.
The acting, screenplay, directing, cinematography, make-up, and costuming all meshed to prove filmakers do not need sci-fi to do a spectacular piece of world-building. 10/10

I originally lost interest in Lucifer sometime during the second season. Because of the buzz about Netflix and a new Season 4, I decided to give it another go. So happy I did. I binged watched Season 4 and was totally entertained. I even think Lucifer got much sexier. lol 8/10

This season was enjoyable - I am a sucker for costumes - and it ended with enough of a hook to have me looking forward to next season. 8/10

Thanks for the heads up! The Band is my all-time favourite music group. I’m hoping this isn’t just Robbie Robertson taking all the credit and profiting off all the years of hard work that his band mates also put in. AGAIN!

The most exciting chess game I have ever watched. This show has not missed a step and it keeps my heart in my throat 90% of the time. The other 10% I can breathe again.
