Great ‘70’s int’l action crime drugs assassin period piece. Anthony Quinn, Michael Caine, James Mason - brilliant all. Wow - damn good.
SJ Robert's comments
That was a pretty solid movie.
OK, I watched the trailer/preview. Looks interesting, with good production. I like the sci-fi/crime hybrid. My only question: does it make sense at the end? I hate movies that have it all - acting, cinematography, plot, etc. but have muddled, confusing, unresolved endings.
I’m not even about to watch this. Can someone tell Hollywood that this story is sooooo tired? These aren’t even spoilers. Bad guy knicks wife/gf or whatever and good guy has to kick ass to get her back with the final bad guy getting blown up in some cliche way but not before the good guy has a quick one liner. It’s literally a tale as old as time.
At least you admit not even watching it, so we know how much to weigh your score. Of course - most movie plots by now are not new, but remakes and variations. Originality is not the only reason to score a movie above 1/5. For old plots like this one, the movie may still be excellent if the production, acting, story telling/writing/editing is good with some twists or variations to make it interesting and fun. Essentially, nobody who watches these kinds of movie watches for originality - the very reason you’re critical.
Does Clint Eastwood make any bad movies?
Great cast. Another classic baseball movie.
its from Robert Heinlein’s short story “ - all you zombies “ . an amazing writer , he wrote many of the classic sci fi memes. other movies from his books “starship troopers” and “puppet masters”
Not exactly. It was written (and directed) by the Spierig brothers, but based on the idea in Heinlein’s All You Zombies.
Probably the best movie I’ve seen with this ‘guilty/not guilty; possibly crazy/mistaken accuser’ plot. Very nicely done - how just 3 excellent actors can fill out a full movie with not one boring moment.
Javier Bardem is an excellent actor. He plays the psychotic killer perfectly. It would be easy to over play it, making the character over the top whacko. He doesn’t. He plays it almost normal. Just crazy at the edges.
Good story. Well acted by all. Not a typical happy ending. Solid 4/5.
Olga! Gorgeous as usual. 3 hrs 25 min’s! But actually it’s over and repeats at 1:43 without audio.
2.5/5 Watchable, but had a made-for-TV feel. Bad writing in places but OK.
Make sure to watch the prequels for the best effect :

Dang. Wish I read your comment first. Just finished watching and during the watch it seemed like maybe it was part of a sequence. Bummer that I watched Part 3 first. Wish it noted it was Part 3 of a trilogy in the movie description.
Classic. Nicholson and DeVito at their finest, and perhaps DeVito’s best as Director. Soooo well done. Hard ending, beware. Solid 4.5/5.
Lesson: don’t be sentimental. If Bobby hadn’t have kept that old card, it wouldn’t have ended that way. (Maybe similarly, but not THAT way.)
None of the links have English subtitles for the Dutch and German dialog parts, but you can download subtitle files from the web (lots of free sites) and then open the file through the video players closed captioning tool.
The streamtape episodes seem to be off by 1 episode, at least for Season 1. S1E3 shows S1E4, etc. I reported it for 3 of them.
Classic series, but I’m realizing that all the episodes are so sad at the end, at least so far.
Wow. This is quite a discovery. All star cast. Intriguing characters. A murder mystery in a non-routine setting. Ep 1 was quite good. Glad I found this.
report link if which one that happens with if it has no audio.
It’s just the 2nd half of the 3 1/2 hour video, when it plays the movie over again, that it has no audio. The first “showing” of the movie (which lasts about 1 hr. 43 min’s) has normal audio. So, I didn’t think it required reporting.
This movie is categorized as drama, but perhaps it’s better suited in the horror bin. That “community” (if you can call it that) are nothing but monsters. What horrible people! Those Brits - always top notch acting. 3.5/5
For a show that has never had a bad episode, this one was particularly good. That ending. Life (and death) in Chicago.
so it is collapsed and doesnt take the page in comments. duh :)
Not really an obvious duh, since you’re using the spoiler feature for something else, which is ok but kind of a useless efficiency since it’s not like the page will run out of space. :-)
Pretty funny film. Definitely hits home in the USA and makes the truest point: How many of us actually matter in this “Pundit Economy”?
if you live in the US, I hope you watch it…no matter what your politics are.
Classic. Nicholson and DeVito at their finest, and perhaps DeVito’s best as Director. Soooo well done. Hard ending, beware. Solid 4.5/5.
