doesn’t really matter with this series, it’s almost like a bunch of long movies, lol. I would recommend watching the movie, Fargo, first though.. Season 4 was so-so.. as mentioned Chris Rock didn’t really fit the part, a good alt for that season would be to watch Tucker and Dale VS Evil , then do season 5 .. I reckon it fits the headspace , sorta .. heh heh

Thanks. I did actually find the movie, had the same thought, and stashed it, have not got around to watching it though. Think I watched the Tucker and Dale Verses Evil thing a good while back, was O.K., nothing to brag about but a decent one time watch. Appreciate the info, thanks for the advise…

Funny but I can recall watching the first couple episodes and being a huge MagPi fan back in the day with Selleck I thought this was a joke but it didn’t take long to grow on me. Now, I’m gonna miss it.

I have not watched the last two yet, am about to dive in. Really liked the ones with Selleck, am with you on your reaction to this one. Grew on me. Was not crazy on what they did with Higgins at first, be finally decided I actually liked her, and from there I was good with it, just took me a second to get used to the idea I guess, something different. And facing the facts, she was actually pretty cool.
Sad to see they finally ended this, there was a lot more that could have been done with this, but guess the ratings were just not high enough. Then again, some shows have decent enough ratings, and they still get scrubbed for some unknown reason. Have no idea what these people are thinking with some of these shows.
Seems like now unless it’s like a so called ‘reality show’ or somesuch they just don’t seem to have a lot of longevity anymore. No idea why but with a very few exceptions. Guess 5 seasons is considered a good run these days…

Yeah, they are getting pretty good at posting links here, but I’m not real impressed with Dood. every time I try and watch something with that one, somewhere near the end, it starts to crap out on me, so I wind up checking the Vid.Src to see if they have it. A lot of the time they will have a series as well, just have to go to the season and episode, and check.
Mostly I don’t try and watch anything that isn’t in English or dubbed myself, I always have had a problem with Subs, I can’t seem to be able to focus on the Subs and watch the movie at the same time like a lot of others seem to be able to. I get too distracted with one or the other…

Thanks! So I did try that and there is a full movie on YouTube but it’s in Spanish I try using the settings cog but no subtitles in English …. ( I actually watched the whole thing in Spanish). Thanks for answering me👍

Hey, no problem. Sorry it wouldn’t give you any subs, but just so you know, anytime you find a movie that has no links to it, try that, a lot of the time there might be the movie there. Not every time, but a decent percentage of the time I have found that if I look, I can watch there. And every time it plays well.

Go to where it says ‘search on other sites’ and hit Vid.Src and you can watch it there. You can keep your Adblock on as well. I have 2 of them and have had no problem with them being on there.

I watched the trailer for this, and it looks pretty good, but there is just one link for it, and I have used that link a few times, and each time as you get near the end of a movie or a show, it starts to crap out, so I checked Vid.Src, and that has the movie, so I would suggest watching it there if you decide to try and watch this, as whenever I have watches something on that, I have never had a problem, at least not so far…

Well not just me, but others in our family have gotten some useful discussions because of stuff people write here, including yourself. We don’t see eye-to-eye on everything, but that’s not the point. We in fact disagree in key areas, but you’re kind, polite & have a good heart, which is reflected when you pass through this corner of the interwebs. I for one appreciate civility & good discussions because we have a chatty family and WHAT-IF is great stuff for that!

Thanks. Honestly, I would probably never even notice my stalker unless someone told me about it. I did see the other day how I got a down vote, as my comment vanished from the comments section (sidebar) almost as soon as I posted it on something, and that’s unusual. So I went and checked, and sure enough…
I figured the DV got me bumped from the sidebar. Didn’t stress it, was no big deal. But yeah, I guess there are some people that have nothing better to do then hang out on sites and down vote people to kill time. Have to have compassion on people like that, if that’s all that life has to offer them, then it’s a sad existence indeed….

Well I don’t think removing Strange from the What if? realms makes room for interesting twist. Strange was the main character in season 1. Let’s hope the writers know what they are doing. Apart from Strange, the Watcher and Scarlet Witch there is very little roon for scenarios permutation with most of the other characters

I didn’t mean the part about removing Strange. Actually, he was not totally removed, at least I don’t believe he was, as this was dealing with a multiverse, so thinking this was just one incarnation of him, so he wasn’t totally removed. At least that’s the assumption I’m working with, as he was taking about ‘his’ universe, and how he was trying to get it back, so there must be other Strange’s out there in other universes.
I highly doubt that we have seen the last of him in some form or another. He’s just way too big of a hero to just delete forever, same with the Scarlet Witch. I did, however, really like what they did with this incarnation of Peggy Carter. And note, this incarnation of her is also in an alternate universe, and not in ours. In that universe, she got the super serum that was meant for Steve in OUR universe. So what happened to Strange there was in a whole different universe that was not ours either way.
That’s why they call the whole series ‘What If’.

That was good, like how they tied that all together, and how they wrapped it all up. Really glad they used Peggy Carter for this as well, always felt she was kind of under used, and really like this incarnation of her. Very well done I thought.

So, question…I have never watched this, but from reading the comments (and don’t think I have watched the movie, but gonna go double check, just in case), this would seem like it’s pretty darn good, and really like Billy Bob, he’s good in everything he does, so guess he’s in the first season. Might have to put this on the back burner for a binge when I get the time.
Was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is going to be the last season for real, or if there will be more to follow? Do we know for sure or not?

I remember him, but not the pilot when it was first aired. Do remember watching some of the episodes from back in the day though. Am 61 and watched the doctor from WAY back when. Was one of my favorite shows from back in the day, watched it every chance I got. Was a bit sporadic for me back then, being in the States, but watched it every chance I could. After a bit was able to watch it pretty regular.
Used to also like watching a show called Dark Shadows, but was told I couldn’t watch it on account of it gave me ‘nightmares’, which was BS, never had those as a kid. Would sneak episodes in when no one noticed and never heard word one about any ‘nightmares’. Land of the Giants’ was another one.
Sorry, got off subject. Just reminded me of some old shows. Showing my age I guess…and I guess I miss some of the older stuff. And simpler times.

Well! This is pretty good so far, just one episode in, and am liking it. Had no idea Gamera could do that, never saw that before, at least not that I can remember. Been a while though since I watched anything with him in it. Animation was really good as well.

RTD has already stated recently no interaction with bi generation Doctor will happen. Maybe 70th anniversary. There was talks about spin off but it doesn’t look it’s going to happen either. Budget concerns of course.
So, just the new guy now, and no more old doctor? That’s kind of a shame, actually. There was a whole lot of cool stuff they could have worked into this if they wanted to. This is whole new unexplored territory, and on account of budget they are just going to leave it hanging. What a damn shame that is…

I was just talking to my friend Charley a bit ago, and in case anyone is interested, he was telling me, and he likes this show, and he has a habit of following certain things, and I have rarely known him to be wrong…
He was telling me from what he has seen so far, that he has read that the original author has written 5 seasons of this already, according to the 5 books that were written, and that the seasons that were written are supposed to follow the 5 books that were originally written…
Now, that being said…
I nor he has any idea if they had any deal with Disney to follow the script or the original writings of the author on this to the ‘T’, or of there will be any certain amount of ‘artistic license’ involved in the production of this. One can only hope that they go with the author all the way through, as that would be the best way to go.
From what Charley said, there would be a lot of surprises for the fans in the series esp. if they aired the entire 5 seasons. I’m hoping for the best, have only watched the first episode so far…

Streaming services operate far differently than broadcast networks. They don’t really compete against each other in certain time slots like that. You have more options for when you can view a show. Viewer numbers matter greatly when the conversation on renewing a show comes up, but choosing to shelve something that has been paid for and finished? Highly unlikely.

While I’m not a huge fan of ratings, they do give a pretty good idea of what the general public thinks about a show. TVMaze has a 6.7. IMDb a 5.5 from 1.7K users. Rotten a 61% audience score. That is an overall favorable rating from 3 different sites. Those numbers aren’t great, but they do indicate that there is far more than a miniscule fan base. I hate to think of all the great stories I would have missed out on just because they didn’t immediately galvanize my attention.

That’s assuming those ratings can be trusted. Kind of like trusting polls. You might be right, but those ratings might well be off a tad as well, so well see if it gets renewed or not. I think a lot more will be based on if people actually watch the show versus other shows in the same time slot. I think that has a lot more to do with it then anything else, though I could be wrong.

I love Sci-Fi, even what Rex calls ‘Cerebral Sci-Fi’, but in all honesty, I couldn’t get past the first episode. Even though they have the second season already filmed, I’m willing to bet this gets canceled without it being aired. While there might be a small following for this, I’m willing to bet that it’s pretty minuscule. ‘Boring as hell’ seems to be a pretty apt description…
The Witcher (2019)
There has been alot of speculation and many accusations made on REDDIT. Nepotism and cronyism run wild in Hollywood. Without acknowledgment from the players involved, not likely, none of it can be proven beyond doubt.
This was showrunner Lauren Hissrich’s 1st directing gig. Her husband is Michael Hissrich, director of West Wing and Shameless. The writer that a great deal of the fingerpointing has been directed at, Hailey Hall, is a Wittenberg grad as is Lauren Hissrich. Whether they knew each other at school is unclear, but in an interview, Hall did say that the two had attended a summer screenwriting class together and both of them worked on Power (2014).
As to why someone would take on a project they had no love or respect for? Hollywood is filled with huge egos. In this particular case, some of the accusations walk the line between having merit and being sexist. I’m going to avoid speculating there and just say that unproven talent might think it a good way to make a name for themselves by taking a product that has a large fan base and putting their own stamp on it.

2 things you just said here that covers a lot of ground. Huge egos and ‘taking a product that has a huge fan base and putting their own stamp on it’. I believe this is often referred to as ‘artistic license’.
That being said, in a lot of cases, when they do something like this, a little can go a long way, and might well actually improve on something if done right, but at the same time, if the writers and directors go too far with it, and make too many changes, then what they wind up doing is taking the original story line and instead of doing what the original writer did, which is what the fan base expected and wanted to see brought to life, they wind up seeing what the writers and directors had a ‘vision’ of…
And the end result is totally different from what the fans expected, not at all even close to what the original was, and it tics of the fan base, does bad in the box, or on the TV if it’s a series, and winds up bombing badly.
With this, Henry, from everything I have read, and I have read quite a bit from articles concerning this, he really wanted to continue, but there was so much that they wanted to change that he simply refused to do it. Guy loved this, and was a purist concerning it. He spent hours training with that sword every day just to be able to do what he did with it, to bring realism to the show, and he really worked hard on it. Played it to a ‘T’, just because he loved it so much.
For the people that have read the books and played the games, and I am not one of them, I’m willing to bet that they are going to be really ticked off about all of the changes that are about to be seen. Clearly Henry was. Clearly he’s not having any problem finding work, but he will be sorely missed in this, and I really believe the people writing and directing this will soon find that they made a terrible mistake…

Hard to imagine anyone other than Cavill being Geralt. As I read in an IMDB comment about characters of books/video games into screen adaptations someone stated Cavill “is THE GOLD STANDARD”. I never read the books nor played the video games, but even from the cheap seats I have to concur he IS Geralt. All you have to do is an online search for the site GH Rex mentioned along with “Witcher” and you’ll find it along with this:
Andrzej Sapkowski himself said about Henry Cavill: “I was more than happy with Henry Cavill’s appearance as The Witcher, he’s a real professional. Just as Viggo Mortensen gave his face to Aragorn, so Henry gave his to Geralt and it shall be forever so.”
Henry isn’t leaving The Witcher because of Superman, Netflix executives have once again made a grave decision against delivering for their fans. The reason why The Witcher is such a popular show is the fans’ love of the source material of books and games, that are hated by and have actively been mocked by the writers and showrunner. Henry Cavill is one of those big fans, he knows all of it inside out and wanted to stay true to Sapkowski’s world, which is why Netflix wants to replace him.
Such a shame when screenwriters and producers think they know better when everything is already written for them.

He was in a show called Deep State, which unfortunately got cancelled, which was really good. Was hoping it would get another season, but nope. Seems like all the good ones get knocked off the box too soon. He was good in Anarchy.
this ending seems familiar, didn’t I watch this in Avengers: crisis on infinity wars or something?
Remember when the CW had Green Arrow and Supergirl and the Flash? They had a ‘Crisis’ kind of thing going on all three shows, and then had crossover episodes, and it involved all the earths possibly being wiped out by an anti monitor as I recall. If you watched any of that it might be that you are thinking about. This kind of reminds me a little of that but done differently and on a grander scale hero wise.
