Heartbreaking what we as humans have done to the world of the apex predator.

Man is clearly the most murderous and dangerous mammal. Did you ever see the movie “Jungle Book,” where the man was explaining that a knife was made to kill a man. Mowgli said “Is the man going to kill you?”
“No.”
“Are you going to eat the man?”
“No.”
“Then why do you want to kill him?”
Out of the whole movie, that’s the one scene that stuck with me.
Only two episodes? The first one was sort of boring, so I hope the next is better.
Well, this series started out intent on completely confusing the viewer. With the events that happened the writers are going for shock value rather than building up any background. I am not a fan of shows that build up questions and give no answers, until possibly the end. This series got mixed reviews so I will give it a good try. I was very fond of “For all mankind” and this is nothing like that. Perhaps that`s a good thing. I will wait and see

Every review I’ve read says it starts to come together after the first two episodes. Seems like lately, there are a lot of shows that take a few episodes to get going. Must be a thing.
Only ONE issue. Orcas are NOT whales. They are dolphins. Otherwise. stellar and inspiring.
In the first episode, he said they are the largest dolphins. Dolphins and whales are all part of the same family.
I didn’t blame “white people” for anything, but I’m curious why you think only black artists should be the ones to care about “these things”?
Protest songs aren’t in vogue right now, although they should be. Only country music seems to be protesting, and they’re protesting against their fellow citizens, which is fucked up.
But did you not see how many white people were in the Black Lives Matter protests? I was in one myself, here in my town, donated to the cause. That doesn’t make me any better than anybody else, just sayin, I talk the talk and walk the walk.
I just find it strange that black artists aren’t writing about these things. There are some pretty soulful and influential black musicians and celebrities out there, but all that any of them (black or white) seem to be interested in is keeping their head down so they can make money hand over fist, which most of them don’t even do any good with. So many of them are afraid of being “cancelled,” that they just don’t speak up. I say to them just like the Kent State sudents said “They can’t cancel us all.” If all artists rise up together, they have much more power than the idiots that run their careers.
Damn! I’m going to miss Marlon, and I’ll bet you with his ex coming back, Neville will soon be gone too. I liked him better than all the other detectives. I hope this isn’t the end of the show. Actors usually say they leave because they miss home. If I had a chance to live in paradise, I surely would not miss England! Sign me up!
There are trolls everywhere. Not all of them are serious about this place like some of us.
I’m on Ep. 2 of Season 3, and it’s boring as hell and hard to follow. I can hardly get through one episode without clicking off to go do something else for awhile. If it doesn’t get more interesting, I’m going to skip this season.
One of the best series I’ve seen in a long time. Slow start, but picks up rather quickly and has a great surprise ending. It needs a second season to let us find out what happens, who dies, who lives and are things forgiven? I’d definitely watch a Season 2.
I was wondering if there was post-partum happening with everything else! Her youngest is not that old and moms can have issues with it for a long time after giving birth! She definitely needs to get some help!
I was wondering this too. Also, what pisses me off is that the crew is just filming away and not trying at all to help her, because they need the drama for t.v. Grrrrr….
I was hoping this would be like Carnival Row, but it seems more like a scary show for children. Think I’ll pass.
i watched this show religiously for 23 years. Couldn’t wait until the next season came on. Last season (S.24) for some reason, it just did nothing for me anymore. I didn’t watch most of that season, and I’m going to put it on my dropped list. Bye, SUV. You were a good friend for a long time.
My great-grandmother was Cherokee and sadly, my maternal side of the family doesn’t acknowledge their great-grandmother/grandmother was Cherokee. Nor do they mention that Jesse James is related to them. In fact, I had a great uncle I knew nothing about until I did some research. My grandmother never mentioned her older brother. I asked a 2nd cousin about the uncle and all she would say was that he was the black sheep of the family. Which didn’t tell me much, but it had to be bad for whatever he did for my grandmother to never mentioning him. I don’t think my mother knew about him either since she never mentioned him. She was the type of mother who would have used him as a warming to not be bad. But she never did.
If you know your great-grandmother’s name, you can contact the Cherokee Nation and they will help you register with them, but you have to be able to prove the connection through documents like birth certificates, etc. I contacted them and gave them my Cherokee ancestor’s name, and they found it in their records, and the record of the marriage, because her husband (my family tie) was an Indian Agent at the time (1700s) and there was a record of him and his marriage to her. I can’t join the nation as a blood relative, becuse it’s not my direct line, but I can still participate as a relative by marriage.
Watched this years ago, but would gladly watch it again. Absolutely amazing show that really makes you think. I loved Jason Mamoa in this because he showed real emotions. He needs to take on more projects that call on him to be a real human, not a superhero. I hope he can get more good parts like this.
I’m sorry to hear that you suffer from that illness, I am bipolar as well. More mania then depression but when I get depressed I become suicidal. Now if Amy is bipolar then they should know that sleep is very elusive and that she not just staying awake all night because she wants too. I wish I could reach out to help her in some way
It pisses me off that the whole tv crew is around here all the time, yet they don’t help her because they need the drama for tv. WTAF?? To let someone become that sick, possibly suicidal, and just keep filming it should be illegal.
i like Amber! she speaks her mind. and they are low key afraid of her
I like her too. She has the most common sense of any of the other older kids, I think.
Had nothing else to watch, so started watching this. Now I’m completely hooked! What a season finale! Seems like everybody is in and out of that pond. Well, except Del. Maybe next season, they’ll let her in on the secret. I wish I had a magic pond. I wonder where it would take me back to?
Indeed, so many forget, without truckers, AMERICAN STOPS!! CB’s still RULE! They always got a signal!
I almost bought a CB the other day at a yard sale. It worked, too! He only wanted $25 for it. I was thinking it would be good for hurricanes when the cell phones and wifi go out.
That was a horrible ending. But on the bright side: “Professor T” has been green-lit for a fourth season.
I absolutely hate cliffhangers. Great season, yes, HORRIBLE ending. We had to wait two years for this season. Hope they don’t make us wait two more years for a resolution.
I suggested Myth America by Kevin M. Kruse and Julian E. Zelizer to Jade yesterday. I highly recommend it.
This episode was so confusing. I have a feeling the junkie daughter is the key to all of it. This is a “must see tv” show for me.
the writers strike has pushed a lot of shows start date in to next year. It’s been a while since anything new has been playing
Is there a writers’ strike in Canada? I thought it was only in the U.S. This is a Canadian show.
shows like this and Movin’ On, movies like Smoky and the Bandit made trucking look so glamorous, people were lining up to mortgage everything they owned to buy a rig, then the truth hit, and they found out it wasn’t “like it was” in the movies
Trucker training schools BOOMED back in those days. Even young girls wanted to be truckers.
Nice research. Though Britannica is not tat amount. I don’t wish a dsputute and I do wish you well…. unless you are actually a marine biologist? We can love this without agreement. Good-luck and Thanks.
Not trying to argue. You said they were not whales, which made me curious, so I did research. Britannica is fine with me. It’s respected, unlike Wikipedia or some other online source. Best to you too. Stay curious. You never stop learning.
Is there any link that doesn’t have the horrid slots ads on it? I can’t watch movies with that stuff popping up all the time.
Just curious - if it was Zoomer himself with no help from an AI, is the ending unsatisfying or lazy?
Unsatisfying because it’s lazy….and doesn’t really wrap up anything.
i don’t understand how Caleb is allowed to eat so much or eat all that junk food in a rehab for obese people. Isn’t anyone watching out for these people?
I don’t watch any of the Godzilla or King Kong movies anymore, because I’m old enough to have seen the originals in the theater, complete with dubbed in English-over-Japanese script lines. Well, didn’t see the original until I was old enough to go to the movies alone, because it came out when I was two young to see it. They re-showed it in theaters ahead of “King Kong vs. Godzilla.” I stopped watching after 1975, when there was a long break in the movies and I didn’t like the new ones much.
I’m about to give away my age..lol….but I started watching this soap opera from day one! I was in junior high and my mother loved all of the soaps on CBS. But once I started college (and no such thing as a VCR) I didn’t have time to watch it or any soaps. I recognized Braeden from the tv series Rat Patrol and he was a German officer in that tv series too.
I watched it back in the day, but then I had kids and had to work all the time, no time to sit around and watch soaps. This was way before the days of recording shows, so I just lost track of it. I do remember the original Nikki from 1978, though. She was a stripper who went after Victor. Seems she was somebody’s little sister, but can’t remember who.
A great series finale, but I wish it wasn’t coming to an end. I could watch another series of Alex kicking butt and taking names.
I hope that teenagers don’t take this tv show seriously. First of all, all those 16 year olds live like they’re (at least) 30-40 years old. Even the way they drink is so weird, they drink rum and have business meetings. They don’t respect their parents and even rule over them. They can do whatever the hell they want, drink, stay out all night, blackmail, run a freaken ‘bar’/casino, go after murderers, form a gang, etc. Every time they do something bad they get away with it. Cheryl burned her house down and her mother just let it go. I can’t even begin about Veronica, the power her parents give to her, damn. And seriously what’s up with the girls outfits? Can the skirts be any shorter? Especially Veronica and Cheryl, no teenager dresses like that. Veronica’s gowns she wears when she’s in her ‘La bonne nuit’ come on, is that really the fashion style or even life style of a 16-17 year old girl?
Not every teenager is mature enough to see that this wrong in the real world.
Why are you taking it so seriously? It’s a fantasy story based on a comic book. Chill out!
Do not waste your time with this stupid show! I watched Season 1 because I had downloaded it and had no internet for 12 days. It’s an idiotic show that makes black women in particular and black people in general look very, very bad. It uses every derogatory black stereotype it could ever use. Made me wonder if it wasn’t written and produced by white supremacists.
Well poop. I thought it would last.
We should all write in asking them to continue it. I bet a lot of people already have.
Love this show! Got behind this year, and am catching up. Sue never ceases to amaze me!
Sad this show won’t have a season 2. Apple says it doesn’t have award potential, but I think Patricia Arquette’s performance deserves some sort of award. She’s amazing in this and is the one thing that makes it worth watching to the end.
yes I agree with you there
Well, I watched some of it again, and I did see the crew telling everybody to just leave her alone and let her calm down, so maybe they do care, but putting someone’s worst moment out there like that is truly exploitative.
Johnny’s looking more like his old self since the trial ended. He’s lost some weight and he finally seems content and happy. I believe much of his drink and drug used stemmed from his very unhappy life with the crazy wife.
I knew she was abusing him long before the trial. You could just see in pictures at events where he was overweight, greasy hair, looked beat down and she looked so haughty. I’m so glad he’s rid of her. I just wish Hollywood would come around and start putting him into decent movies again.
This is eerie. I’m not comfortable with Colin Morgan playing this part. I’m on episode 3 and will keep watching, and hope everything turns out o.k.
UPDATE: After watching this whole thing, I can totally say this story is not over and deserves a Season 2. I hope it gets one.
I liked the original show, but I’ll have to go back and rewatch it by the time this comes on. The pandemic put this on hold for way too long!
At times I had issues with the characters but overall liked this new version of Perry Mason. Now the sad news! The series premiered strongly in June 2020, which would see Rhys earn an Emmy nomination for his leading role. However, in June 2023, HBO announced that it would not be moving forward with a third season.
I know! I love this show, and I watched the original as a child. I liked this one better. Perry had much more personality. They all did! It seems nothing good lasts more than 2 seasons now.
We liked it as kids. It’s a product of it’s time for sure. Internet is weird. Some popular things never make it online, while some obscure stuff is easily found. What’s odd is that these are dvd rips. An obscure 1982 show from our childhood, and the production company actually made dvds??? Maybe vhs tapes, but dvds??? These are pristine. That’s a wow moment.
Yeah, these are the cheap DVDs you find at flea markets and that they used to sell for $5 in big bins at Walmart. I’ve found some good old shows in those bins.
She is in a new drama called North Shore and she plays a tough politician with some baggage of course. You should give it a try.
Brendan Frasier reminds me of the older William Shatner. Not so much to look at anymore, but still talented and nice to watch. I’m here for Tom Welling, though.
Same. As played by Douglas Henshall, Jimmy Perez has a difficult pair of shoes to fill I think, but I’m certainly willing to watch them try.
Same. I can give it a shot, and maybe I’ll like it. I know sometimes with other shows, the main character left, but the new character turned out to be really good. I just don’t want ALL the old characters to be gone. That would be a no-go for me.
Always liked black & white as film medium, now I’m reminded why. Great story, but more than that, the choice of black & white to tell it adds so much depth & texture to the Atmosphere - one of the most important, if not the most important “character” of the show.
Watch it for the story, it’s good.
Immerse yourself in the cinematography, it’s amazing . . .
I was raised on black and white tv. Didn’t have a color tv until I was 18 years old. The black and white is depressing to me. I need color in my life! Still, the story is intriguing thus far.
Where are the songs and movies about the Orangeburg massacre or the Jackson State killings? Oh yeah, those were black kids. One need look no further than the Wiki pages of the 3 incidents to observe the stark difference in how little these two events impacted the national consciousness compared to Kent State. In particular, the cultural references.
EDIT: I’m not attacking you. Just making an observation. :)
It’s not white people’s fault that black artists don’t write songs about these things! Viet Nam was hell on earth. I grew up during it.
