Bosch: Legacy (2022)
AmieWarren 0 points 6 months ago.

I had completely forgotten about this show, figured it wasn’t coming back but so glad to see it now! I have way too much on my watch list, and it’s hard to prioritize, but I’m putting them all aside for this!

The Madame Blanc Mysteries (2021)
AmieWarren 0 points 6 months ago.

Anybody know if there will be a season 3?

Welcome to Plathville (2019) S5 E7
AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

I can’t believe I stayed up so late to watch this episode, but I’m glad I did. Poor Barry. Poor Ethan. Poor poor Plaths! They are one screwed up family, but they all love each other. Well, except none of them love Olivia. Poor Olivia. I just feel sorry for that entire family, and I’m glad I’m not part of it.

The Winter King (2023) S1 E7

Why do men let their dicks lead them into so much trouble? Honestly, this Guinevere isn’t even that pretty (imho), definitely not worth dying for.

The Marsh King's Daughter (2023)
THEDEVIANTONE 0 points 6 months ago.

caught this one scrolling through new movies, looks ood

AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

Looks like something that would haunt my sleep. I don’t know.

Frasier (2023) S1 E2
AmieWarren 2 points 6 months ago.

I haven’t laughed this much since Thursday Night Must See TV — such fun times! I think David is going to steal this show, though.

Shining Vale (2022)
AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

Seems I watched part of S1, but wasn’t too impressed. Can’t even remember what it was about, except that Courtney Cox deserves a better role in a better show.

The Bay (2019)
AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

It seems I started watching this, then just got lost. I don’t remember how far I got, so I’ll have to start all over.

Shetland (2013)
AmieWarren 2 points 6 months ago.

So…Agatha Raisin is going to be the lead detective in Shetland? I never watched but one episode of her previous show, because I read all the books and it was so unlike them, it just turned me off. People who never read the books loved it, though, as is often the case. I really hope she can take Shetland in a different direction, because we’re going to miss Doug Henshall so much, it will take a big person to fill his shoes.

Stargate Atlantis (2004) S1 E1
RobotAllah 2 points 6 months ago.

Promising Start. Was fun seeing some familiar faces from SG1. Kinda Glad Daniel didn’t sneak in with the Atlantis crew.

AmieWarren 2 points 6 months ago.

I always liked this Stargate. Don’t understand why others didn’t like it.

Murdoch Mysteries (2008) S17 E2
AmieWarren 2 points 6 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I love this show, although it’s a little sad to see Mrs. McCarthy in such a part. Guess she never should have left Father Brown!

The Changeling (2023) S1 E8
AmieWarren 2 points 6 months ago.

At least after this episode, we know there MUST be a season 2. Can’t wait!

Barbie (2023)
AmieWarren 3 points 6 months ago.

Didn’t want to watch this at all, but had nothing else to do, so I did. Not a total waste, but a little stupid at times. I definitely wouldn’t watch it again, or “go pink” like so many women are doing.

SurrealEstate (2021) S2 E2
AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

I like that this show has a personal element to it, not just people out hunting ghosts. Also like how the spirits get personalized sometimes.

This Town (2024)
Piglet 1 points 6 months ago*.

No release date yet, and if you’re a fan of Michelle Dockery, (Downton Abbey, Good Behavior) you might give it a go. Since I’m a former radio DJ, I might watch for the music.

AmieWarren 4 points 6 months ago.

LOVE Michelle Dockery, but haven’t seen her in much. Seems Joanne Froggat is tearing it up, though! I see her in everything! Always did think she was one of the best actresses on Downton.

The Creator (2023)

chump change, i’m over 1500 on my plan to watch/watching/on hold (till next season) list and that dosen’t include movies lmao

AmieWarren 4 points 6 months ago.

And more good stuff comes out or is uploaded every season! You can never catch up.

Luther: The Fallen Sun (2023)
AmieWarren 3 points 6 months ago.

The way this ended, it leaves hope for another series of Luther, or at least another movie. This was a good one, for sure.

I’ve been adding to my list since the weekend! But, I shall retire in 2 years and I don’t think I shall need a part-time job any time soon. My plan is to do nothing the first 6 months but watch tv shows/movies and by then I will have to make myself get out of the house maybe twice a week.

AmieWarren 4 points 6 months ago.

That’s pretty much where I am. I go out about twice a week for whatever errands I need to run, but mostly, I just sit and watch videos. So much good entertainment, so little time.

The Creator (2023)
Piglet 5 points 7 months ago.

Another new movie to put on my list. Thank goodness I have 3 weeks of vacation that I’ll take over the next three months because my ever-growing list of stuff I want to watch is getting out of control.

AmieWarren 6 points 6 months ago.

I’m old. I’ll be dead and gone before I finish my want to watch list, while still keeping up with my current shows.

The Winter King (2023) S1 E6
AmieWarren 3 points 6 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Interesting how they changed the way Arthur met Guinevere. She’s nothing like what I thought she would be.

The Changeling (2023) S1 E7
AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

I’m probably just dense, but I didn’t understand this episode at all. Where was Apollo? Was he not born yet? This story is too twisted. I can’t keep up.

Murdoch Mysteries (2008) S17 E1

the writers strike has pushed a lot of shows start date in to next year. It’s been a while since anything new has been playing

AmieWarren 1 points 6 months ago.

Is there a writers’ strike in Canada? I thought it was only in the U.S. This is a Canadian show.

La Brea (2021)
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

Watched season one when it came out, and just watching season 2. I’ve never seen such a useless group of people, but it’s starting to get more interesting. There is enough “who is here” and “where are they?” to keep me watching this last season, but I can see why there was no third season.

Mystery Road: Origin (2022)
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

Just finished seasons 1&2, but I’m going to watch the movies before I tackle this one. Seems the first two series came between the two movies.

Mystery Road (2013)
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

Just found this. Never watched the movies, but I’ll go back and watch them after I binge season 2. It’s sort of addictive. I highly recommend it. I’m beginning to really love Aussie and Kiwi TV series.

Jeanne du Barry (2023)
AmieWarren 6 points 7 months ago.

I don’t know why the critics were so harsh about this movie. It’s a beautiful love story, and Johnny Depp is the perfect person for the part, since Louis XV didn’t care what anyone thought, and neither does Johnny. I loved this movie.

The Winter King (2023) S1 E5
AmieWarren 2 points 7 months ago.

I didn’t see THAT coming. Wow.

Love Is Blind (2020)
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

Just started watching this, but I doubt I’ll watch Season 2. It’s really ridiculous how some of these people act.

Love Is Blind (2020) S1 E14
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Lauren is white trash who has almost bankrupted Matt, and she has no reason to still be mad at Jess. She’s so fucking insecure, and Matt just lets her lead him around by the nose. I just started watching this, but I’d be shocked if they’re still together.

Love Is Blind (2020) S1 E6
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I feel like Jessica has a drinking problem. Every time they’re all together, she is tipsy.

Love Is Blind (2020) S1 E6
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

May I just say that Jessica is a controlling beeyatch. No wonder she is still single at 34. Seriously, who would want to marry her? Mark needs to move on and find someone his own age who can grow with him. I do think he is too much of a mama’s boy, and I don’t think Jessica is going to put up with competing with another woman.

The Changeling (2023) S1 E5
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

This is the strangest show I have ever seen, but I can’t stop watching it.

The Winter King (2023) S1 E4
AmieWarren 3 points 7 months ago.

This is getting a lot more interesting now. It’s much darker than many of the other versions. And that sword!

Dead Like Me (2003)
AmieWarren 3 points 7 months ago.

I need to rewatch this series. It was a “must watch” for me when it was on. I was sad the Ellen Muth quit acting. She was quite talented.

Good Omens (2019)
AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

I know I watched the first episode. Don’t remember watching anymore. I’m going to have to give it another go. I love David Tennant.

The Day the '60s Died (2015)
grasshopper rex 3 points 7 months ago.

Actually, there are plenty of songs protesting police violence and social injustice. A Rolling Stones article from 2016 entitled Songs of Black Lives Matter: 22 New Protest Anthems is but the tip of the iceberg. Many, many more have been written since then. This Land by Gary Clark Jr. is a powerful message about his own experiences. I could guess why it is that your perception is that black artists aren’t writing about these issues and no, none of my guesses would be blaming you or condemning you in any way. Instead, I’ll leave it to you ponder the question. Peace.

AmieWarren 3 points 7 months ago.

Honestly, I don’t like rap, and I know there are probably a lot of rap protest songs, but I just don’t hear them. Sorry. I used to like rap back in the day when it was about making yourself and your life better and helping other people. Then it got to be about hos and bros and drugs and violence, so I don’t listen to it anymore. Sad. I’m sure there are a lot of very meaningful rap songs, but some bad apples spoiled it for me.

This is the moment that gave birth to Devo. They were going to school there when this happened & were personally affected by the military being turned on children at an institution of learning.

Devo was one of my favorite groups of all time.

NoelCoyotebleu 1 points 7 months ago.

Oh gosh. I remember that sign. same same. I was 19 yrs old.

AmieWarren 2 points 7 months ago.

People sometimes asked me why I was so tough. I said “I’m one of the Viet Nam generation. We’ve lost more than you’ll ever have, most importantly, our innocence. You just don’t fuck with us. Period.”

The Day the '60s Died (2015)
grasshopper rex 1 points 7 months ago.

I’m probably lucky that I was only a child during the late 60’s and early 70’s as I’ve always been pretty militant minded and firmly believe that power is never willingly relinquished, but instead must be taken by force. Even then it is rarely of little use, but I understand the anger and frustration that leads to violent protest and civil unrest.

AmieWarren 3 points 7 months ago.

Power is a drug. It won’t be given up voluntarily, it has to be stripped away.

The Day the '60s Died (2015)
grasshopper rex 2 points 7 months ago.

I didn’t blame “white people” for anything, but I’m curious why you think only black artists should be the ones to care about “these things”?

AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

Protest songs aren’t in vogue right now, although they should be. Only country music seems to be protesting, and they’re protesting against their fellow citizens, which is fucked up.

But did you not see how many white people were in the Black Lives Matter protests? I was in one myself, here in my town, donated to the cause. That doesn’t make me any better than anybody else, just sayin, I talk the talk and walk the walk.

I just find it strange that black artists aren’t writing about these things. There are some pretty soulful and influential black musicians and celebrities out there, but all that any of them (black or white) seem to be interested in is keeping their head down so they can make money hand over fist, which most of them don’t even do any good with. So many of them are afraid of being “cancelled,” that they just don’t speak up. I say to them just like the Kent State sudents said “They can’t cancel us all.” If all artists rise up together, they have much more power than the idiots that run their careers.

The Day the '60s Died (2015)
AmieWarren 7 points 7 months ago.

That happened a week before my 18th birthday. (Yes, I’m old). I grew up during Viet Nam, and had already lost two friends killed in the war. Lost more who came home so messed up they killed themselves. We grew up with news video of them dragging bodies out of the jungle every night. We were so traumatized. That’s why they didn’t have live battle coverage of the first Iraq war, because they had promised they would never traumatize a generation like that again. Viet Nam is also why they stopped the draft. Kids who weren’t even old enough to drink (legal age even for beer was 21) were getting killed.

I remember Kent State like it was yesterday. I came in from school and it was all over the t.v. No cell phones then, no social media. I remember watching and falling on the floor screaming and crying. My mom came in and held me. She said “I meant to turn the t.v. off. I’m so sorry.” I remember the sign they hung from the dormitory windows that said “They can’t kill us all.” It was one of the worst things that ever happened in my lifetiime.

Where are the songs and movies about the Orangeburg massacre or the Jackson State killings? Oh yeah, those were black kids. One need look no further than the Wiki pages of the 3 incidents to observe the stark difference in how little these two events impacted the national consciousness compared to Kent State. In particular, the cultural references.
EDIT: I’m not attacking you. Just making an observation. :)

AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

It’s not white people’s fault that black artists don’t write songs about these things! Viet Nam was hell on earth. I grew up during it.

Who is Erin Carter? (2023) S1 E1
tardisrider 1 points 7 months ago.

honestly it’s kindof a tired old story. not particularly well written or acted, don’t know if there is enough to keep me interested.

AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

The backstory is the first 3 episodes, which are sort of boring — until you get to episode 4, then it all makes sense. Don’t give up on it.

Voyagers! (1982)
random000 2 points 7 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

We liked it as kids. It’s a product of it’s time for sure. Internet is weird. Some popular things never make it online, while some obscure stuff is easily found. What’s odd is that these are dvd rips. An obscure 1982 show from our childhood, and the production company actually made dvds??? Maybe vhs tapes, but dvds??? These are pristine. That’s a wow moment.

AmieWarren 1 points 7 months ago.

Yeah, these are the cheap DVDs you find at flea markets and that they used to sell for $5 in big bins at Walmart. I’ve found some good old shows in those bins.

I only watched this one episode, but honestly, I think the turquoise was too trendy and they are going to get sick of it very quickly. The design was very nice, though. I sort of feel like Retta is just the “token fat black woman” in the presentation, because she basically stands there and does nothing. I don’t think I’ll watch it again.

What happened to Kim’s diet? Looks to me like she’s gained weight. I want to know what her side of the credit card story is, because I feel like there is much more to that story. Olivia makes it seem like she was charging personal items, saying she would pay Ethan back, but never paid him back. It seems Ethan is taking up for Olivia’s side of the story, so maybe she was right. I don’t think Olivia should have made it public on social media, though. It had already been mentioned on the show. She should have left it there. Still, Micah and Moriah are being sort of immature by not even talking to her about it. This whole family (aside from the little kids) needs to grow up a lot.
