The violence and trauma inflicted by the power and money hungry Europeans on the indigenous populations of almost every country they colonized is a horrible, tragic fact. We have inflicted far more harm on others than any have ever inflicted on us, and that power imbalance remains today despite the efforts of groups to bring about equity and inclusion where it historically never existed. This film might have been better served having been made by an indigenous film maker, but it wasn’t. I may watch it, but it will take some time for me to get into the proper headspace. You speak those words for many of us, many more than otherwise. Ignore the trolls.

Oh yeah. The idea of predictive programming such as the conspiracy theorists define it doesn’t exist. It’s all smoke and mirrors and badly written podcasts by people who are also probably ripping off the lowest common denominator and making millions doing it, knowing full well it’s all not true. But anywho, this show looks really good. I dig Zack Snyder and will enjoy watching it!

Capitalism rather, and decision makers using statistics to predict what will make them the most money. If that is what you mean by “predictive programming”, then yes, of course. I suspect it isn’t what you mean, though.

Anti-whitism?? Creative word play is always the sign of wanting to convince and persuade at any cost. This was a completely fictionalized movie, not a documentary. I hope you are aware, and if not I would like to politely inform you, there are sites completely devoted to these matters. However, this is strictly a movie/series site. It’s really unfortunate that you feel the need to interject that propaganda here. Please, go to the other sites. They will be so happy to have you join them. Those who are here to discuss films and shows, are not so happy. Thanks very much.

grasshopper rex 10 points 4 months ago.

The conspiacy theorists are foaming at the mouth about this one. Expect to see more of that when this movie comes out. https://www.primewire.tf/movie/1420606-civil-war

If you aren’t familiar with the term “predictive programming”, which has been used a couple of times in the comments here, it is a conspiracy theory claiming that the government, the illuminati, or the elites are using mass media as a method of mind control, sending out hidden messages to brainwash viewers and make us more accepting of planned events in the future. They also think that it is used to mislead the public in advance of “false flag events”.

In other news, there has been a sharp increase in the sale of aluminum foil.

JadeEnigma 5 points 4 months ago*.

I got mine. You got yours? Well, ifn you don’t then you can’t have mine.

Seriously though, I had to look it up, and then I laughed and laughed. It’s hilarious that someone actually believe that to the point of ripping this film apart based on what is really nothing more than a badly formed conspiracy theory with a fancy name.

Leave the World Behind (2023)
ΜΥΓΑΣ 1 points 4 months ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

To be clear, I already said I saw the film as globalist propaganda and a priming of the public for a false flag cyber attack that Swab has “predicted” (check it out). Probably before the coming elections in a desperate effort, because the controlled Uniparty is expected too lose. The film states that there is no evil cabal and without it the world is a “scarier place”…really?

But the films core message is that humanity is bad, nature is good (Why? Does the former deserve to be eliminated to save the latter? Not clear). But for the demoralization con to work, the good hustler knows how to make it less obvious to the mark. In other words: A spoon full of sugar makes the poison go down, In a less obnoxious way. That’s in my opinion what Obamas “optimism for the good in humanity” was about: You can’t convince someone to commit suicide if your efforts to guilt trip him, are too obvious.

So we have mixed messages: The family is saved by the invisible prepper but the visible prepper is a selfish prick, …not to mention a patriot (see flag), and a gun nut.
And I think there was some critical race theory sprinkled in like fairy dust: What was the deal with the fear of the Spanish speaking lady?
Not to mention the puritan sex shaming: As in the judgmental black daughter, self victimizing herself because she was attractive.
All the white people suffered from one or the other vice, with the exception of the white young daughter -if you forgive her escapism because she’s a child. (The viewers “escaped” with her to the After Life of the film, during the credits, listening to the Friends theme song = subliminal death wish)
But the black people were immaculate and the judgmental attitude of the black daughter justified. (= anti-whitism).

Thanks, Jade, for measuring in.

JadeEnigma 2 points 4 months ago.

I actually did like it, though I would have rather seen different name stars in the cast. I found the emotional impact and thought provoking nature stayed with me for a long time, and I am tempted to read the book for a deeper understanding of the messages it was trying to get across.

Leave the World Behind (2023)
grasshopper rex 6 points 4 months ago*.

We see the world through very different eyes. Mine see a land of plenty where half a million people are homeless and an estimated 2K of them die every year just from exposure to the elements. A country where 50K die every year due to lack of access to adequate health care or life-saving medications. If we can’t take care of our most vulnerable when times aren’t that hard what hope is there that we would do better in a post-apocalyptic world?

JadeEnigma 3 points 4 months ago*.

I can’t disagree with you there, but my point was that we would not as a species become animalistic and “everyone for themselves” in that situation, as every apocalyptic film seems to say we would. Most of the world doesn’t have these same issues. The majority of the world is doing well that way even now, and most countries do not have the problems you list. My point still stands.

Leave the World Behind (2023)
grasshopper rex 3 points 4 months ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Faith will leave one ill-prepared and vulnerable if that isn’t the case. Doubt is the best course and if I am wrong then I am pleasantly surprised, but still far better equipped for a worst case scenario. :)

JadeEnigma 3 points 4 months ago.

You will be pleasantly surprised, I’m sure. We have proven it time and time again. The worst of us may rise for a short time, may make a lot of noise and stomping of the feet, but the best of us always rises higher and buries them.

Leave the World Behind (2023)
ΜΥΓΑΣ -2 points 4 months ago.

Seems like predictive programming propaganda. That said, I enjoyed it very much. I read Obama gave some help to the screen writers, “to make it more realistic” …..right. Interesting. Also humanity’s friend Klaus Swab “predicted” two years ago that there will be cyber attacks, amongst other crisis. Obama and Klaus are on the same side of history. So take note of what this film is messaging us. It will be what they want us to think. Cheers!

JadeEnigma 1 points 4 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Barrack Obama was asked to consult, and he did, but the only advise he offered was to make the human race less likely to devolve into absolute anarchy and chaos when faced with an apocalyptic scenario such as this. He has more faith in us as a species and suggested we would, in fact, come together more than we would otherwise. I think that’s true, myself.

This movie was a fun little watch. I enjoyed it, my wife enjoyed and my little ones enjoyed it. But my friend didn’t. That’s how it works. Some like it - some don’t.. So I am not understanding the point you are trying to make, at all. In fact, what you are saying has no merit to what my post said in the first place. So please, tell me. What does what the movie grossed have to do with if someone liked the film or not? This movie wasn’t advertised or promoted much due to the writers/actors strike that was going on. That is going to have a major effect on what the movie makes in theaters. As most had no idea when it was being released. If you didn’t like the film, awesome. It’s called personal taste. So please stop trying to push your argument here. It has nothing to do with my original comment.

Well that’s a pretty broad statement. No one really cared for him as Superman? I did. I’m someone. Darklighter up there, he’s someone too.
