I know I have seen mixed reviews from the comments. I see some that express they like it, for one reason or another. I see some that say it is too cheesy, or that they should have chosen a different actor/actress than Queen Latifah. I did realize this though, while I understand not everyone is going to like a new show, especially one that was a movie but completely different except for the overall theme. Anyway, my point is the negative comments I have seen here about this show really run it down as low as it could get. But, even though I will agree at times there are some cheesy parts, but also some pretty good well thought out parts too. And just because I say there are cheesy parts, I realized it isn’t even the show itself that makes it actually good, it is the fact that it does follow along with the same overall theme as the movie, it is the ultimate goal of The Equalizer is to do their best and help those less capable of helping themselves. That really makes it a show with a purpose and worth watching. If we all paid attention to the lessons some of these shows try to convey to us once in a while, we might someday get to live in a slightly better world!

Yeah besides kicking butt, it does convey a lot of positive messages.
I like where this is going. Reddington is back.
It’s not bad. It will all depend on the direction of the show. I’ll keep watching for now.
Insane episode. Bea really was a special character and I missed her since her demise. It was great to see the bloopers reel with her in it. Special recognition for Pamela Rabe. She is a master in her own class. I really enjoyed how the writers subverted our expectation with Ferguson(The Freak). I look forward to seeing all the actors in new/different Aussie productions. Highly recommend this series to anyone.
I personally never get tired of this show. Looks like there are more episodes…
I can’t believe I didn’t check when this was coming back. There goes my weekend…
That is soooo true. We’re seeing a windfall of riches; catching up is impossible, with good new things you want to see plus equally good things others are recommending in addition! I’m not getting much sleep lol
I use to be able knock out seasons like it was nothing. I can maybe watch 2-3 episodes before bedtime. If weekends are free, I will watch at least 3/4 of a season(depending on the length of episodes). I also like to explore shows that I normally wouldn’t watch and then that adds to the list… Never ending is it? I can’t ever say I’m bored!
Its weird we had to wait for all the new seasons this year and now we are going to be bombarded with more new seasons. Not complaning. I just can’t keep up with everything(watching 40+ shows).
I love Donna Troy and the actor that plays her. Just an awesome character all around. This season is so much better than season 2.
It was a fun watch. Definitely takes you back to 1993. I know a lot of you weren’t even born yet.
Saw it in the cinema. It was not what I expected but I enjoyed it. No long goodbyes here. No matter what anyone say Daniel Craig has been briiliant throughout his tenure.
Dave shines doing skit comedy stand up is just not his strong suit
I was never a fan of his sketch show. It was funny at moments but mostly absurd. His career is built on being a comedian. If you didn’t like the special that is fine. But he is one of top comedians of all time. Name someone who is better.
poor ant lost his hot wife now his job …. hope he bounces back , i like this show dont really care who the wrench turner is the formula for the show is the same and i like it , good luck elvis !!
Ant will easily bounce back. He left the show as it was moving back to the UK. He has lots of stuff in the works. Elvis has tons of experience and has already proven a great replacement.
I’m not saying this is a low budget show but on a low budget shows continuity isn’t great. It seems its only filmed in one country so you will find many mistakes like that. It does take you out of the story but you have to try hard to overlook it.
Yes, I typically enjoy Korean movies but the lead character in this just over acts like crazy. I wouldn’t enjoy this even w/subs but the dubbing just makes it worse.
This is pretty much standard fare for Korean tv shows. I don’t watch too many Korean films so I can’t comment there.
Such horrid acting & it’s dubbed.
Have you ever watched a Korean show? You can view elsewhere without dubbing and watch it with subtitles which is my preferred method.
Great episode. We now know where Jess has been hiding.
Actually, pilots usually get allocated way more money to be made than regular episodes. They often bring in better writing talent for pilots that don’t stick around for the series. Of all the pilots produced only 10 to 20% get sold and not all of those make to the airwaves. Not only do you want make a great impression during your pitch to the networks, but you need a product that will impress viewers enough that they want more. If it doesn’t appeal to a viewer at that point, in this case me, it’s not likely to get much better. Enjoy.
I never said a good deal of money isn’t allocated, pnly that they are usually done very quickly. This first episode is clear example of a rushed pilot.
sci-fi/fantacy and the commenters say its not believable………well derrrr
Its not that great of a premise but it’s entertaining. It will probably get axed but enjoy it for what it is.
Decent premise but horrible execution. Acting was bad or maybe it was the cheesy dialogue that made the actors seem mediocre. Back in the day I probably would have suffered through this seeing that you had few choices, but given the abundance of great programming out there now I can’t see a reason to do so now.
Pilot episodes are usually done in a rush. Meaning very few times to rehearse. I was laughing at some of the actors because it was bad in many scenes but it was entertaining. You have to be able to overlook some things to be able to enjoy the show. I will keep watching unless it gets worse but I think it will improve.
I love it! The return of the freak was subtle but so worth it. What a way to subvert our expectations.
This is just some lazy writing. Why would Liz leave out all of her research for Jones to find. And Heath just happens to know JD the other alien.
Favorite episode of the season. I missed Donna and Rachel. Glad to have them back!
This was a seriously high budget episode. Stargirl is now the best cw superhero show.
Besides being always thoroughly entertaining, the soundtrack is brilliant. I can’t think of any show that has a better soundtrack.
Great Spanish series, kind of reminds me of the movie Munich. I for one love the fact that it’s not dubbed. Any movie/tv series that is dubbed is not nearly as good when watched in the original language with subtitles.
Yes anything dubbed is always not good. The voice actors sound nothing like the orignal actors.
One of, if not the best boomer scenes in this episode. I can’t to see what happens now.
This last season had a very weak start but ended well enough. Good resolution for all.
Are you kidding me ,Ella?!?!?! N tho Dan was a douchbag earlier in the show when it started ,I’ve seen the character evolution ,to be honest we started loving him ,he didn’t deserved that ,I mean he died with no loved ones around ,he was in hell ,he came back as a spirit whom no one can see except angels and demons ,n then before he could see his daughter for the last time he was gone ,just like that. I feel like its been more painful since he returned from hell.
Dan has always got the short end of the stick. It seems like a running gag but it is totally unfair.
Even if it doesn’t get renewed which I hope it does, everyone got some sort of resolution.
Great color palette in the beginning and some cool camera shots. I usually do not enjoy Mary Elizabeth Winstead but she was pretty good in this. Definitely a one time watch.
I never made that connection before. I should be ashamed of myself.
It was something familar but I couldn’t place it anywhere. Nice little easter egg.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Bill Burr in this, shows he’s got talent as a serious actor.
I couldn’t put my finger on who it was till I read the comments. He was really good in this episode. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I’ve said it before, Daniel Craig is a class act. It’s lovely just to hear him speak in his natural state. I was an instant fan starting with Casino Royale. Who knows what the future holds with the franchise but Craig will be missed. I think I will go back and watch all 4 films. Side note, I know most people hated Quantum of Solace but I rank it as the second best film so far. Time to die may take its place. I try not to think of Time to die since I’ve anxiously been waiting for so long but looking forward to its release.
Loooove the show! So attached to it now. The cast have settled into their characters so well. And Latifah!… she’s come such a long way. Good on her! Thrive!!
Queen is so wooden, its not even funny. Buuuut, it is a fitting role for her. If she really was in shape(like an action star), this would take the show to another level. I’m really happy she was chosen for the role. I’m just really annoyed by the daughter(gen z).
