Why, thank you, rose. That is very kind of you.
I am at a loss as to what compels some people to do bizarre things. lol.

you are more than welcome. I would prefer the voting to be changed to like and dislike as the voting gives trolls too much power and control and we all know they love that. You have yourself and lovely day Alien

PonderThis 7 points 3 years ago*.

I was still in grade school when this movie was released. I’ve never watched it and had forgotten about this movie until I saw your comment. This movie will be going on my “to watch” list. Thank you for mentioning it and have a good weekend.

yellow_rose1 8 points 3 years ago.

I wasn’t even born yet. Not until the following year. However I was raised by a couple of hippies, being that of my Mom and Dad. Therefore I could relate to it and was very familiar with the soundtrack as it was played in my house hold during my early years.

Penny Dreadful (2014)
AmieWarren 11 points 2 months ago.

I never watched this show while it was running, but I had no shows schedule for this weekend, so I decided to give it a try. All I can say is WOW! Been binging on it since Friday night, watched the whole first season yesterday, and couldn’t wait to wake up today to watch more.

yellow_rose1 8 points 2 months ago.

It is so good I’ve been thinking of watching the entire series again. When I watched it for the first time my husband was still alive and we would discuss and critic every episode. I know it will trigger those memories. On the 17th of this month it will be 7 years since he past

I agree a soon as a saw in the very beginning the lame attempt at stealing scenes from The Exorcist and the jump scares which I’m so tired of in these movies, I gave up.

How cool I’m going to check this out. I’m a Canadian and I watch Mr. Dressup whenever I could. I loved him. Incidentally, when the show was popular my Dad owned a children’s’ shoes store and many of the kids thought my Dad was Mr. Dressup. He is Canadian royalty iMO

awe, what a wonderful lady. RIP for sure. She had a long fulfilling life. Personally she gave me plenty on laughter throughout the years. Especially during my teen years.

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994)
yellow_rose1 6 points 3 months ago.

I remember when I saw this for the first time when it was released on video, I didn’t even realize Robert DeNiro played Frankenstein. The make up artists were really amazing back then. Now it’s mostly CGI. The work that was put into movies before CGI, well there is no comparison to watching a good old fashion movie and one made today.

Poor Things (2024)
yellow_rose1 10 points 4 months ago.

This is truly the craziest movie I have ever witnessed. It was genius. I loved every minute of it. Emma Stone will win an award for this role, no doubt and Dafoe was incredible too. I loved the ending. It was long but well worth every second. A true masterpiece

They couldn’t have made a better decision playing war pigs during the trailer. Then you have Ridley directing and the all too loveable Joaquin, how could it go wrong? I love time period films especially depicting war. The wars back then were brutal.

I enjoyed this so much and was completely heart broken that it did not return for another season

Dragonslayer (1981)
Canuckian 6 points 4 years ago.

The Dragon CGI combined with live-action prop/stop motion photography is absolutely stunning considering it is a movie done in 1981.. IMO it could stand up to most movies in this genre even compared to Today’s standards. It has a decent story, decent script and as i said, the Dragon scenes are fantastic to watch, especially the big fight scene in the Dragons den. I remember this movie from when i was a little kid and it was the first of its kind i ever saw, and most likely is the movie that began my life long love of all things Fantasy. Don’t let the fact it was made by Disney throw you off, this has some pretty intense scenes (the part with the Princess who lost her “footing” in the cave ;) ) This movie was a collaboration between Paramount and Disney so you can see that it has pretty high production value. Anyway, all that aside, this remains one of my favorite movies as a kid and even today, i always come back to watch it at least once a year, usually around this time of year too though i don’t know why..it isn’t exactly a Christmas movie lol. If you like Fantasy and Dragons and magic and all that, and you have not seen Dragonslayer yet, i suggest giving it a watch, you won’t be disappointed. I give this a solid 8/10 all the way across the board.

yellow_rose1 6 points 4 years ago.

this is one of my favorite movies as a kid as well. We didn’t have cable growing up by at age 10 my Dad bought a vcr and this is one of the movies I taped and watch over and over again. I still even watch it today

I hear you honey, I’m on a drug called Cosentyx now. It’s a biologic that I inject. It is helping my joints maybe you could look into something like that. I would never get hooked on another opioid it changes who you are as a person. I didn’t like that person at all and neither did my family

Britney vs Spears (2021)
yellow_rose1 4 points 2 years ago.

I was never a Brittney fan. Just due to the fact that I’m much older and was not into that kind of music. However watching this documentary has me so angry for her, that the courts would allow this to happen. It reminds me of the fable Rapunzel and all these men trying to rescue her from her Ivory tower prison 4/5

Rest in peace Paul Reubenstein. Most know of Hartman, Fishburne & others from Larraine Newman’s Groundlings & other comedy troupes that worked with Pee-Wee, but Natasha Lyonne also got her start as one of the little kids on Pee Wee’s Playhouse.
