Maybe I need to watch this earlier, because this episode I am totally lost. Is everyone hallucinating?

That’s really the question they want you to have, but I think we have two distinct realities, universes if you will, intermingling with each other because of that experiment. they will often slip into one then back into their own suddenly. I think, anyway.
I lived in Kingston for couple years. I have lots of family down there and napanee. Shame there shutting it down.
totally agree with the general message, but this show is so bad. the acting, directing, dialogue. makes me dumber watching it. so many stars how could it go so badly. i feel icky from it for being such a hyper pastiche of cliche on something that is so important. appropriate for kids i guess
We started watching it last night for the first time. Had never heard of it before then, and I was very excited by both the theme and message and the names and faces I saw in the trailer. But yeah, the acting and the writing were both not up to standard for this kind of stellar cast. What a disappointment.
While Denis Villeneuve’s rendition of Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune’ promised a faithful adaptation, I found myself somewhat disappointed with the two-part movie series.
Though undoubtedly enjoyable, I couldn’t help but notice numerous variations from the original book that deviated from Villeneuve’s assurances.
While the films were engaging, they didn’t quite align with the depth and intricacy of the source material.
In contrast, the Sci-Fi Channel’s miniseries from 2000 stands out to me as a superior adaptation.
Its fidelity to the books and meticulous attention to detail better captured the essence of Herbert’s work, offering a more cohesive and faithful retelling of the story.
Ultimately, while Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ movies were entertaining, they fell short of my expectations in terms of staying true to the source material.
However, for those seeking a visually stunning cinematic experience, they certainly deliver.
In case anyone is wondering it is subtitled (very clearly) and easy to read.
Ah, but twice is more than once..so technically it IS “several”
Must be at least four, since three is “a few” while two is just “a couple.”
7 years and I can still count on SWAT to deliver the best intro music in the game. No one beats SWATS hype music.
Some of the Scandi-noir intro songs are pretty good. The Bridge comes to mind, although it is rather dark to be honest.
Seth is very proud of his Canadian heritage, and it’s not surprising he went back for this.
Saw this in a playlist earlier today and thought I would give it a shot. Scandi-noir mixed with some good old fashioned speculative fiction. I like it!
This reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode I saw once. An astronaut returns to Earth, but it is not his Earth…
Just started watching this, and WOW! What an opening salvo! I suspect it will be good all the way through, and not just because of the stellar cast.
in case you haven’t noticed, i’ve a disdain for following rules blindly and that extends to unneccessary grammatical doctrine
their is 3, the 3rd is, just like the others, a theory, that the vacuum of space beyond LEO is b.s. and that the Universe is a Highly detailed projected and we live in a simulation. Therefore we are alone. But, aliens could still exist, just not “extra terrestrial”. Aliens just come from unknown/secret areas of and/or within the Earth.
He assumed the medical debt of 9,000 Americans totalling over $15 million for the sum of $60,000 and forgave it. We need more more Americans like him.
I remember when he started to do that. What a wonderful thing. We need more of this, and less of the selfish, self-centred, bullshit.
Thank you, Greyfur. I know we’ve had our differences in the past, but I appreciate this.
We saw this the other day, and it was wonderful. They let us see a bit more of what drove and inspired this man, from his childhood to the troubles in Jamaica he was an important part of resolving. Well done.
Burke is an excellent writer. I think the 1st book of his I read was The Lost Get-Back Boogie. Robicheaux is one of my favorite literary characters in that genre, along with Walter Mosley’s Easy Rawlins.
I used to live in Alexandria and did a lot of contsruction work in the southern part of the state. Also partied a lot in Lafayette. I’d go back to visit, but a few minor warrants make that inadvisable. lol
Am I the only one that gets a James Lee Burke vibe from this series?
You’re a Dave Robicheaux fan? Me too! Love that guy. As a matter of fact, we’re planning to visit New Iberia one day soon. My wife used to live there.
Oh joy! I love this! What a treat for a Sunday afternoon, thank you!
shoddy
You forgot the asterisk. It only counts if you put an asterisk in front.
Ahh, the green puzzle strikes!🤣 The prehistoric hopper of unmowed weed fields already mentioned that, and I said that that would change things. All spoilers should be marked as that. I guess by the time I got there the situation had changed. You guys must have caused that change by the time I made my comment..🤷
I have a bad habit sometimes of reading stuff marked as spoilers before watching something. Probably shouldn’t, but if it’s not too detailed, and it’s a good one, and not too involved, it can give me a good idea if the movie in question is really worth the time to invest to watch it.
I’ve been on here just long here at this point to learn who to listen to and who to blow off on stuff like that. I got to know now who likes (for the most part) the same stuff I like, and who don’t. Alien has never steered me wrong, and Piglet and I mostly agree, though we don’t always watch the same stuff. There are a couple others, but truth, once you look, you can’t unlook it…always one of those ‘buyer beware’ things..😖
I do that too! I’m also one of those who reads the 1 star reviews on Amazon before the 5 star ones :-P
Listed it as a spoiler, so even if he gave the whole movie away, it wouldn’t matter, he still listed it as a spoiler, which alerted people that they might not want to see the content. Fair warning was given. That’s why the spoiler alert. ‘contains spoilers’. You don’t have to read it, and no one forces you. Is what it is, and he says what he says. The ‘Ooops’ is on the reader…not on the writer.
i think that is what they will need to keep sleepy joe awake is some good crystal lol…And i dont support trump anymore either ! i want all the older politicians to step aside and become advisors at least the good ones to a younger generation! Some from every corner and every narrative of what is the current USA! And maybe then I can wake up and say life is worth continuing with the pain i am in!
I am with you on the older generation of politicians. Their time came and went decades ago.
Just watched this, and was right, the ‘critics’ were full of crap. Hope this ain’t a spoiler, but they based their whole premise of downing this on the fact that Spiderman was not in this or even mentioned in any way, but the thing was, this wasn’t even ABOUT Spiderman. This was about Madam Web’s Origin story, and when you take this as that, it was actually pretty good. And in a way, it was kinda about the initial origin story (and you will get this from the trailers, so this is not really any kind of spoiler) of how 3 of the spider chicks meet each other as well.
So if you take it in context as that, it really is a pretty decent flick, or so I thought. So once again, the ‘critics’ got it wrong, and had no idea what they were talking about. At least that’s my opinion, for what it’s worth. I liked this for what it was, an origin story, and thought it was decently done. Others will have to make up their own minds, but I liked it. And in truth, I have seen far worse.
Thank you. I had really wanted to like this and watch it, but all of the negative reviews were making me doubt if I should. You’ve made me want to again. Much appreciated.
did you watch the movie?
if so,my advice stands, read a neutral history book
Sure, sure. I suspect your idea of “neutral” would be anything but, as you’ve shown yourself to have some very partisan extreme views. You deflected my second and third question I notice. Let me be more precise, then. Tell me, what do you think of Hitler and the Nazi party, and their ideologies?
He was in the doc. Rahul Singh, OOnt (born October 1970 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian paramedic and founder and Executive Director of GlobalMedic, a humanitarian relief organization that provides disaster relief in areas affected by natural disasters or complex emergencies
Hey! I know Rahul :D
He’s an awesome guy. He and my ex were work partners back when Rahul was a paramedic.
I’m curious where this came from on a comment section about the Yellowstone super volcano.
AKA- the last great hope for planet earth.
You know what’s funny? So many people are going to wonder how could this be a hope for Earth thinking you mean humanity.
For me..honestly very fun. Pretty much unless you were harming others lots of thing they arrest you for today were just a warning ticket or a officer would follow me home after confiscating my beer ball. Even gave me back the tap. But that was New england life in mass,NH,maine was stricter.actual ticket, arrest if truly drunk.(amen.do believe if i was very drunk driving id not get off the hook that easily..but if i was parking..partying for hours..they would leave me alone..till dawn then just ask if all is ok.tell u get ur butt home already. Ask if u wanted a ride, and tell you next shift may not be so tolerant..lol. but today..ive no clue where to park and party. Cameras everywhere, police, sheriff, park officials..aside from renting a room! Cant even light a bonfire on beach without 50$ permit. Firepits have steel grates over them and 🔒! Where are our freedoms! Id go on..but think maybe you see my thoughts..oh..and cant sleep with ur romantic intreast outdoors either these days on a warm beach here.ave temp is 70-90*f year round.watch an Elvis movie.1 with a.party on beach..now beer’s even illegall unless your at a bar beachside..But you can drive on the sand park till dusk and destroy ecosystems with oil leaks etc..i grew up on the beach so much of this seems wrong, but you cant walk barefoot on hot sand either here.just my thoughts.
There sure is a lot of drinking in your freedom lovin’ fun before-times usa.
if you love blacks portraying medieval English people - then you will love this
I can kind of get attempting to beat-for-beat remake or adapt, but usually I’m with you. Logan’s Run is a good book and your imagination is more capable of expressing that to you in vivid images personalized to your preferences than a director that’s never met you no matter what choices they end up making in telling the story visually.
It was a very good book. I may read it again.
