During the course of the short film, the audience follows Persephone, a 16 year-old girl, as she begins to develop into a young woman. Her close bond with her mother, Dee, is threatened when Persephone begins to spend all of her time with a young man she is secretly dating, who she knows her mother would not approve of due to his difference in beliefs. The two begin to clash as Dee struggles with the reality that her daughter may be living in sin and turning into someone she doesn’t recognize while Persephone struggles to cope with the crushing pressure kept on her by her mother. The story reaches it’s climax as Dee decides to invite Persephone’s love interest over for dinner. Daughter and mother clash against each other, and the night ends tragically for all who are involved when Dee, in a moment of rage and desperation, takes the life of her daughter.
