Details:

Tom, a smart young driver, is in love with the pretty daughter of the proprietor of a café much frequented by the men from the railway. His affection is reciprocated, and the young lady presents him with a flower. This action has been observed by another driver, who also admires the girl, and when both men meet at their engines, Jack roughly tears the flower out of the other’s coat. Tom clenches his fists and is about to retaliate with a blow, when the foreman arrives, and the train steams out. But the rivalry between the two drivers is too intense to bear quietly, and we are shown the men struggling fiercely. Forgetting the train, with its many passengers, whose lives are dependent on their skill, the drivers sway to and fro, until both fall headlong to the ground. The train speeds on its way, and at length a terrible collision occurs. Help is at hand and the line is searched, when the bodies of the men are found locked in each other’s arms.
