Details:

Frank Goodman after graduating from college as a doctor goes to a nearby country town to visit his uncle, an old doctor by the same name. When he arrives he becomes acquainted with Bertie Parsons, daughter of wealthy old Ed. Pearsons, whose one great desire is to see her wedded to Dr. Frank Goodman. Old, mean and with a sour disposition he is as distasteful to Bertie as he is ardent in his lovemaking to her. When young Dr. Goodman meets Bertie, he is greatly attracted by her and when he learns of her father’s choice for her husband, he rebels. While waiting in the old doctor’s office a note is left there which he reads. It is from Ed. Pearsons, saying that he is dying and requesting the doctor to come at once prepared to marry his daughter by his death bed. To save her, the young doctor decides to masquerade as the old doctor and marry her himself. In its haste he leaves the note on the table. The old doctor finds the note and prepares to comply with the request. In the meantime, the young doctor secures his disguise and is married to the girl not even herself knowing the difference. After the marriage while in another room, the doctor attempts to kiss the bride which she does not want and in an outburst of temper she grabs his whiskers. When they come off and she becomes aware of the deception practiced on her, she is very angry, but as she thinks of her escape from the other man she becomes grateful. While they are absent, the old doctor appears and says he is ready for the ceremony. When the girl’s father learns the truth, he is so angry that he gives up all idea of dying and jumps out of bed a well man. When the facts become known to him, his humor overcomes his anger and all is forgiven.
