Space is absolute zero, you would be frozen solid in 2 seconds although the radiation would likely kill you first, you wouldn’t have time to exhale or do anything for that matter.

Krl246 1 points 5 years ago.

Actually you don’t freeze that fast, but, the radiation is a problem if you are in direct sunlight without a protective layer. But the same is true on the planet, so.

Captain Marvel (2019)
finigan1 1 points 5 years ago.

14 psi here with atmosphere is still quite pressurized, but in a vacuum it increases the volume and pressure because it is always being pulled from everywhere, like space wants to eat it. It basically puts you into a tank of compressed oxygen that is not only very flammable, but very likely to pop like opening a can if there is any weaknesses or damage.

Krl246 1 points 5 years ago.

You can remain conscious for ten seconds after space decompression, you can exhale with more force than 14 psi. At extreme depths though, you wouldn’t even be in the same shape after a split second. If you want to really gross yourself out with education, you can find the videos on youtube. I think they even had a “Mythbusters” on it.

Captain Marvel (2019)
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago.

I would think it would be more like opening up a can that has been shook, open a airlock with very little air and it shoots you out into space, that is how they get the distance on the shuttle from ISS when they disembark. With a lot of air and a very little hole it will increase the pressure expenentially, everything in the way of it getting sucked out will be making a bigger hole, except for us bags of mostly water.lol

Krl246 0 points 5 years ago.

It’s only 14 psi though.

Captain Marvel (2019)
finigan1 1 points 5 years ago.

Being blown through a tiny whole in the hull , or crushed like a meatball? I don’t like either of those options. I have seen what happens with planes when they lose compression from a hole and they still have gravity and some atmosphere outside, in space you could literally be pushed out a pin hole with the differences of pressure.

Krl246 0 points 5 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

You couldn’t be blown through a hole in a normal spacecraft decompression, it be like one of those cupping massages(a fat bruise is all).

Captain Marvel (2019)
finigan1 1 points 5 years ago.

Implosions are only possible under extreme pressure like under the ocean, where in space there is none what so ever, it is explosive decompression. Another thing most people get wrong with decompression is they think they are sucked out when they are actually blown out, space is a vacuum, and any leak can cause the air to escape at pressures that can rip things apart. It has happened with planes at high altitudes. They are both the same principal though, whether it be to much pressure outside and not enough inside, or to much pressure inside and not enough outside. Both are very bad and will give you the same results, cause whether you are crushed or blown apart you are still dead.

Krl246 -1 points 5 years ago.

Explosive decompression in space is not even that bad(maybe, pop out an eye), but, when at extreme depths explosive decompression can turn you into ground beef(literally a messy pulpy lump of who the fu(k knows). There is only one atmosphere of difference from spacecraft to vacuum while depending on your depth the atmospheres inc exponentially under water.

so if a spacecraft explode in space you will see flames, dont think so since air is needed for flames, the sun is not a Campfire

Krl246 3 points 5 years ago*.

You absolutely see flames when a craft explodes, what do you think the people inside are breathing. They have huge containers of liquid hydrogen and oxygen they are basically flying around in giant welding tanks. The flames would persist as long as there is an oxidizer and a fuel source, and radiate in all directions along with smoke and debris.

Captain Marvel (2019)

The CG they give her when she flies and does her power blasts. It’s very DragonBallZ and very conceptual. Like when normal people see a Saiyan go super they don’t notice anything but through the fourth wall we see an inferno.

I really enjoyed this documentary, for I grew up with this man throughout the years. “Friday the 13th” scared the crap out of me, another trauma with lasting remnants. STILL won’t go into a lake. It was interesting to know about the man behind the mask. I admire and respect him for coming back from hell, literally. He’s one of the pillars of horror movies for me, and I feel privileged that he went deep within himself, to share his life experiences with us, his fans. Especially those who have watched him since his first Jason movie. I’m glad he’s find happiness in his life and still continues to work, for our twisted pleasure. Definitely worth watching, if you’re a horror movie fan, because you’ve seen ONE of his movies, at least for sure.

Actually movie actors started out coming from a more Vaudevillian background, which used fourth wall breaks all the time. It wasn’t until actors who were more grounded in legitimate theatre that that particular habit fell out of favor. The era of silent films is rife with fourth wall breaks, from the likes of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, as something that hadn’t yet become taboo.

Hempsters: Plant the Seed (2010)
Green 2 points 5 years ago*.

Actually a lot of this is false information. Strains are actually not as strong today as they were before all the indoor breeding began. Plants were bred to grow better inside and in doing so we lost a lot of traits. Ask anyone whos serious in the breeding game and they will all tell you that we have to start going back to landrace genetics. And the search has already begun… looking for almost mythical strains like Acapulco Gold, Lambsbreath, Kona Gold, Malawi Gold, Purple Thai and more. Its the synergistic effect between all the cannabinoids that offer different highs. And if youre looking for Indica or Sativa for genetic traits, you may as well stop there. Indica is derived from the word for Indian Hemp… and most would say that Indica is from the colder regions, or AKA outside of the tropic zone. But Where is India located folks? About as tropic zone as you can get. So the whole Indica and Sativa thing are total misnomers. We should, actually, rename these characteristics to better suit the land in which they came. For example, Indica should now be what we call Sativas, and Afghanicas should be what we call the typical Indica strain. Dj Shorts (breeder of the original Blueberry strain) says that after all genetics hes come across, the only thing that really separates the two is flowering time. Otherwise almost all characteristics can be seen in either genotype.

Ask anyone who was around in the 70’s… weed may not have looked as nice as it does today, but hot damn would you get hiiiiiigh! Im talking 3-4 hour long mind journeys. To say that weed today is stronger is a misleading statement… because weed hasnt gotten any stronger, its just our growing methods have become much better and more predictable and repeatable!

Krl246 1 points 5 years ago.

I totally agree on avg most strains are less potent. There are strains that exceed previous strengths though due to an increase in rarely selected cannabinoids coming into prominence and an effort to balance them for differing effects. It’s nice to have some corroboration on the only difference between Indica, and, Sative being phenotype. I only have close to a decade of running a 20 acre pot farm, not like a wrote a book or anything. I had some Lambs Bread when I went to Jamaica, and they said the strain was kept pure since the 60’s who knows though, and it was a killer. It just comes down to the work you put in really.

Hempsters: Plant the Seed (2010)
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago*.

There are three different distinct species of cannabis, indica which is very short and stout with very wide leaves and originates in colder climates and is very potent, sativa which is very tall with thin leaves and originates in the tropics and is potent, then there is ruderalis or hemp which looks much like sativa but has no psycho active property’s what so ever that originated in north america, they are very different from one another. The thc isn’t something that was bread into certain strains and species, it was just cross bread over the years with selective breading to have more.

Krl246 1 points 5 years ago.

Latest research that I’ve read actually says there is no real differance between Marijuana strains, even Indica, and, Sativa. The cultivation of newly found cannabinoids in differing levels is what accounts for variance in high and effect. THC and CBD have always been present, and, researchers are thinking that it may be the ciltivation of these lesser cannabinoids in unmonitored selective breeding programs that have led to an inc. in potency.

Hempsters: Plant the Seed (2010)
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago.

Wouldn’t it be funny if the reason why the government and their lackeys don’t want hemp grown is because it would mess with the good shit?.That is a solid reason right there in my mind!

Krl246 1 points 5 years ago.

Originally their was no difference in the plant strains but over the years the THC cultivars have gained in strength and conversely the marijuana tax act of the 1930’s stated that hemp could only be grown if no THC could be found in the plant, leading to the main reason for hemp being illegal now is that it provides cover for the stronger Marijuana cultivars. For a while the US gov’t actually encouraged farmers to grow hemp due to its many uses, but eventually this led to farmers who signed up for the tax stamp to be entrapped and arrested because the tax reform law ended up being more of a drain than a success and many gov’t officials wanted to use the plant as their stepping stone to success. Using Mexicans and people of color as a scare tactic to sway public opinion the laws quickly stopped any production of the plant, even though many gov’t reports contradicted the negative slander of opposing groups. The Mayor of New York Fiorello La Guardia actually was very outspoken on the benefits of hemp and marijuana, but public opinion and fear won out in the end. It really had nothing to do with the plant, and was all about gaining power. I don’t see that that will change, especially with large companies under the guise of medical innovation are buying up legitimate companies to consolidate their base before the laws are in place. Governor Cuomo received about 100,000 dollars just before he decided to flip his script to legalize.

Hempsters: Plant the Seed (2010)
finigan1 0 points 5 years ago.

Much has changed since this doc came out, but still much remains the same. The legalization of medical and recreational weed in a handful of states and just 3 months ago nationwide here in Canada is a great thing for everyone. The legalization of hemp though would take a lot of money out of billionaires pockets, petroleum and forestry especially. It would also change the power certain institution not agency’s have over people. The DEA and other law enforcement is probably as pissed as the cartels are that its been legalized, especially in the state of California. It is a harmless and very beneficial plant besides the money people make off of it illegally. I have been around it and have used and grown it for decades for my and others own personal use. I and some friends have not had to go to some dealer who only cares about profit and not add our money to the criminal aspect of it, it is quite expensive. But even though I have never done it for profit I could have still did time for it until 3 months ago.Hopefully in time the idiots running things(like they did here) will get that the benefits of legalization across the board would far,and I mean really far outweigh the negatives.Until then keep fighting and growing, but be very cautious like I was for almost 30 years. < Passes the peace pipe!

Krl246 1 points 5 years ago.

The thing with legalization is that it isn’t quite what is happening. The gov’t wants to be able to make money off a product that is inflated in value due to it’s black-market sales. So instead of freely growing and using it, you need gov’t consent to grow, market, and, sell. It will still be criminalized to sell or grow, in much the same way tobacco is, invariably leading to large companies and special interest groups spending millions to further regulate and control the flow of money to them. Without those restrictions in place the value of a weed that can grow almost anywhere would fall to zero.Even in my hometown they don’t even want to make concessions for medical needs patients to grow there own.

It’s more like 1 in 20(not 1 in 100) people are gay or lesbian, and if you add trans it goes up very slightly. That said, if you know one you prob know two if they are in a relationship, and, if you are in a gay bar 4 out of 5 are prob gay. If you look at the totality of TV it does feel like gays don’t exist though or are like some rare leprechaun. Two people in a gay relationship and one new guy who would prob sleep with a mermaid that had the fish part on top doesn’t seem that far of a stretch. All in all, i think Hollywood does take sexuality too far and doesn’t quite capture the essence of a real life relationship (gay or straight). Moreover I think the goal on the show is to help those who do identify as non-binary not feel like they are broken, and help those that do, understand it really doesn’t matter. Quick end note, if i knew a lesbian couple as hot as Sharp & Lance(doesn’t exist in reality), i would be ‘friends’ with them so fast.

The writing is bad. The directing is bad. The soundstage is bad. The short story is pretty good but not good enough to warrant a show about it. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is if you’re new to the genre of Sci-Fi, maybe this is a good starting point due to its high budget production. If you don’t enjoy this show much but still like Sci-Fi, check out “The Expanse” (it’s very good).
