naah…lol just bad a show. if you watch this you will just go to hell is all.
Themoo's comments
Considering what kind of people claim they will be going to the other place, hell sounds like a much nicer time. See you there!
myself too! Glad I remembered my valentine date lol John Oliver!
Same here, thanks to your reminder in chat what date it was back, I went looking XD
If any show ever needed a re-boot, this is it! I miss this show from my childhood.
If any show ever needed a re-boot, this is it! I miss this show from my childhood.
Actually had a reboot, in 2011 - one which by every conceivable metric was better than the original - as shocking as that may seem. sadly, it only ran one season, apparently due to budget issues.
I didn’t say he did but. Wanda and Pietro and they are mutants. I am aware of all the issues because of Marvel’s money issues. I have been a comic reader and collector since 1980. I also went around and bought 21 copies of Hulk 340 and sold them all in 94 for 2000.00 a huge mistake. Live and learn Die and forget it all.
They do exist in the MCU they just could not be referred to as Mutants. Wanda and Pietro aka Quicksilver are both mutants. Their dad was Magneto one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel universe.
Except Magneto does not exist in the MCU yet - the mutant versions of Witch and Quicksilver, are from Wundergore Mountain, their mother met Lensher and lived with him for a while. In the MCU, Witch and Pietro are shown to be Hydra superhuman experiments, experiments done on two orphaned children from “Sokovia”. The Quicksilver that was in Fox’s First Class, was Magneto’s son, because Magneto existed in that world.
The reason this happened is simple: While Marvel struggled in the 90s and sold off many of their rights, like Spider-Man to Sony, Mutants and Fantastic Four to Fox - Witch and Quicksilver were also in the Avengers books, most notably West Coast Avengers.
except the result is the show playing ONLY to an audience it already has.i don’t want a half hour show, billing itself as a sitcom, to have ‘epic’ anything. i want it to be a nice, ably-crafted diversion for 22 minutes. not yet another navel gazing feature in a market already glutted with them.
Just means you’re not the target demographic. This is a single cohesive narrative that starts off subverting expectations, but it really is right after a 20 film long tale. Picks up where that stopped. It’s for those fans. It was not and never was going to be just a sitcom where you could watch them in random order and not miss anything.
Well, 2 things….first, the girl that played the scientist chic with the glasses in this episode really made this one for me, she was great in this.Hope we get to see more of her, really just liked her for some reason!
Second thing, there can be no doubt at this point that Wanda has seriously done went and lost her shit…
I’m glad they brought her back instead of recasting her - her last time playing the role was in Thor : The Dark World, and that’s just sad.
Ok, I freaking loved this. Tudyk is uniquely qualified to play a weird character, and he nails it as the sometimes sinister, sometimes charming, always hilarious Resident Alien.
Not saying that it is following House of M exactly as 99% of comic translations to screen hardly ever do. However after looking further into WandaVision and it’s relation to house of M, I found several articles that clearly state it is inspired by house of M and could possibly be the MCU version of house of M. One such article is in forbes.
Well, Feige and Bettany already confirmed WandaVision was set up following a cut after credits scene in Endgame, where she gets his body. House Of M can only be lightly touched upon though, (Billy and Thomas’ existence, for example) possibly in an inverse of that story - as mutants don’t exist in the MCU yet. Will this show be that which brings them in? That is my hope.
The movies do not tie into Wandavision at all. However the house of M X-men comic run does and will give you a lot of context about wandavision. I would suggest starting with a search for X-Men House of M.
Pretty sure it does tie in to the MCU. Wandavision looks to me like a look into her mind as she descends into grief stricken madness. The bits we saw in colour during the first 2 black and white eps gave quite a few hints about what is happening in the real world outside.
It’s just a compilation of scenes, from the featured character and their on screen highlights across the MCU films.
I don’t know how I skipped out on this over the years. Just started today and I think I’m going to be stuck before my monitor for the foreseeable future.
Jenkins herself said he was based on Trump.
What Jenkins said:
“[Donald Trump is] one of [the inspirations],” Jenkins explains, although she stressed that it is not meant to be a political statement. “The funny thing is like, he is [an influence], but I’m not trying to make [a point]. Even we have the president in this movie, and I’ve gone out of my way not to make it look like Ronald Reagan. I don’t want to get political. It’s not about political. Actually, a huge influence of this movie was also Madoff. And so what I was looking at was, those young Madoff story [sic] fascinates me, because I’m like, ‘How do you end up being Bernie Madoff?’”
I’ll take huge influence over “one of” , and as we saw on screen, it certainly fit her statement.
Despite what people here try to tell you, he’s primarily based on Bernie Madoff. If you don’t know who that was, we can see why you’d be inclined to think it was Trump. Grifters and con men, all share similar traits.
Marvel comics FTW! I find it very interesting how both sides in the show remind me of the Mutants struggles. The Spree is so much like the early Brotherhood, it’s fascinating to see where they’ll go with this in season 2
And again in 1994 with Molly Ringwald. It only made it to 2 episodes because the CIA stopped it. See Molly Ringwald anywhere? lmao
That was so much better than I expected. Here’s to one of Stephen King’s greatest works getting the treatment it deserves - hope the show maintains the quality of that pilot
What is “PC Agenda Nonsense” about this movie? I haven’t seen it, just wondering.
It’s something people whine about if they don’t know that comics have always been about such. The X-Men for example, were created as an allegory to the civil rights movement in the 60s. Stan Lee has stated this countless times through the decades since and still it seems to surprise people. Only bad thing here was really the execution of the film itself - Fox Studios have just squandered the property since the 2nd film. Hopefully when MCU brings in the Mutants, we’ll finally see them done right for a change.
Yeah yeah, we get it - anything to the left of “hunting homeless for sport” is decried by you lot as socialist, immoral or communist. We’ve seen it all before - and history was not kind to Rechtsradikale then either.
Vonnegut is my favorite author and this originally very short story has been retold a million times. Wiki has it wrong; it’s been done in all kinds of ways even in sitcoms and cartoons. That said, most got the gist right. This POS however varies wildly and who casted Samwise as ‘tall and handsome’ before he even had hair on his feet?
Well, as I don’t speak Spanish, and my mixdrop version had no subtitles…. this was a waste of 43.01 minutes….
And the Whiney family is still bloody alive causing mayhem wherever they go,,,,
Yeah, these subtitles are useless. Even when I select German, it only gives subtitles for the rare English bits
even more, if they are gonna spend hundreds of guys to get him why did no one bring a bow or a musket? why not horses and spears? why not burn down his house while hes asleep? poison his food? etc etc
same reason you dont bring a gatling gun to the high noon quickdraw gunfight its just not the form of the story :)
Well they did keep referring to it as a duel in the bit before the fight scene started. So it is supposed to be just 1 on 1.
wrong, he cut ties as soon as he knew EP was shady, stop listening to buzzBS
Cut ties? So the pictures of him with known sex trafficking madam Ghislaine Maxwell from the 90s, through the 2000s, and his even wishing her well just a few weeks ago - that is all BS? Stop drinking the damn kool aid. If most of your friends and colleagues are criminals, odds are high you’re one too.
The Epstein Trump barred from Mar-a-Lago? No, Only Slick Willy visited Epstein’s Island 26 times and he’s probably fapping to this movie right now.
You mean the same Trump who we now know was on many of Epstein’s flight logs in 1997? And the one we see in hundreds of pictures with him? And named as co defendant alongside Trump in various trials that were settled out of court?
That one?
This first episode was simply amazing, and if it’s any indication of what’s come, I’m fully on board.
Wow so Disney is fine with one race of people declaring their race as King? I understand at the moment there is a movement for the injustice done to that particular race against the police, however how can it be ok for that title, yet if a chinese man declares Asian as the supreme race he will be shunned by all…before i am called names, attacked. etc I am a black man with asian family members in a mixed family. I am just putting this discussion up for debate as it is a pretty bold move from Disney of all companies who is known to be all about family and family values for its films
Maybe try watching it, instead of making such nonsense posts based on the title.
No way! Wait… was he? I thot he was older than that. Well, maybe but not by much—wasn’t what I consider to be a typical mil. Anyway, I kinda consider someone in the early 80s to be a late X’er or something. And if anyone called him that they better do it with a smile on their face and love in their heart.
Millenials are born between 1980 and 2000, or often 1981 to 1996 in some places. That’s it. No other criteria for it. They’re nearing their 40s in many cases. Millenial = Gen Y.
Cool! As long as it ain’t named Grandsons of Anarchy. Or Millenials of Anarchy.
How about Sons of Anarchy—The Next Generation? Patrick Stewart could even do a cameo or two in leathers and sporting an old school Marlin Brando style biker’s cap.
It was just discovered that the lead writer for Tucker Carlson Tonight, who hosts the top rated cable news show in modern television history, is a full fledged white supremacist.
Not hyperbole.
His name is Blake Neff.
And he has used an online pseudonym for years in which he has been explicitly racist and advanced white supremacist ideas.
In a recent article, Blake Neff said, “Anything Tucker Carlson is reading off the teleprompter, the first draft was written by me.”
It’s the top show on cable news.
And it has been written by a white supremacist
i wholeheartedly aggree
this is required viewing for evry european
its shocking in concept but i think its done in a way that all school children should have access to.
This must not reoccur
Europeans are already well aware of it. We’ve had school outings to Auschwitz to get a guided tour in painstaking detail of the horrors that happened there before even hitting the teens - of what happens when far right wing politics, fascism, is left unfettered. The end result of an elected leader who alienated allied nations, spoke of walls, promised to solve all the problems and then blamed such on minorities. Who stoked fear, hatred and division within his own nation.
That kind of history is already repeating.
I like him for it physically at least. He’s a stocky 5’9” so probably as short and stout a Wolverine as we’re allowed to have.
Yeah, he’S got the gruff demeanor, and if he puts on some more muscle.. just perfect. Obviously a 5’3” Wolverine, comics accurate would look ridiculous on screen, but 5’9 and stocky, yep.
No, Scooby’s voice was created by Don Messick when it first aired in 1969. Welker has been the voice actor only since 2002.
Still, they could have hired Matthew Lillard for Shaggy. Also, Scooby talks too much in this one and is too easily understood. The pop culture and real life jokes and references are boring, and not at all funny. The plot is far too stupid and predictable to be interesting. I could go on.
Then again… I hate everything past the 2000s when it comes to Scooby-Doo. Especially that disgusting abomination that dares to call itself a cartoon, called “Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!”. That thing was an insult to the creators and if I ever stood in front of the degenerate moron that greenlit it for release, I’d punch the ever living snot out of them.
So I’m most certainly biased.
My bad, I knew I saw Frank Welker’s name on the Scooby Doo films I have dating back to the 70s, but turns out he played Fred and other voices then.
This is not s. 3 ep 2 of Marvel’s Spider-Man, it’s s. 4 episode 8 of “Ultimate Spider-Man” - completely different show.
at first i was like all whaaaaaa? then I understood that its a good movie for the guys but im still like, whaaaaa? damn!
Woman here.. enjoyed it. You can tell when an actor is used to working with directors - in this case, it’s made by the Russo brothers, same people who directed The Avengers. They played to Hemsworth’s strength, being believably physical in his roles - pretty sure it was written for him.
fantastic action set pieces, clear and concise narrative not hampered by tonal shifts, with a sprinkling of pathos - I give it 5 stars
An inspired casting choice there, with Frankie Muniz playing a washed up former child actor…
