Amy simply has to go to a facility for awhile and get medication and counseling. I’m afraid she’s going to do something stupid if she doesn’t. I’ve been where she is, and I honestly thought of ending it all. I truly hope the family can talk her into getting help, and if she won’t, commit her.

These episodes air way after the events happen. Besides, he has no income, lives with his parents, and Amy has a lot of family support. She just needs some psychiatric help. I feel for her, because I was a single mom with two kids, and it’s hard as hell. I broke down once.
I’m glad there will be a second season of this show, because if not, this season finale would haunt me the rest of my life.

I feel for Amy. I know what that’s like, going back to what was supposed to be your home and it isn’t anymore. The only reason Michael wants 50/50 custody is so he doesn’t have to pay child support. He’s totally worthless. I know she’ll be o.k., but it brings back memories for me. As for Caleb, it’s so hard to watch this knowing he’s passed away.
Season 4 was very different from the same-same of the first three seasons as far as her and William’s relationship is concerned. The ending leaves possibilities for a love triangle in the future. Hopefully, it will be renewed for a season 5.

You can’t compare an indie film with a limited release in select theaters with a major studio film that will open in over 1,500 locations. Yeah, we’re very likely to see a cam not too long after it is released, but a dvd quality upload is not happening anytime soon unless a screener’s copy gets leaked.
A screener’s copy isn’t going to get released unless they send them out en masse ahead of awards, and I doubt this will be getting any awards.

I loved the first few seasons, but it just got boring after awhile, so I stopped watching it.
I’m guessing a satisfying conclusion for you would have been seeing justice served, but the reality is that it doesn’t always happen. Despite our best efforts to impose order on a chaotic universe, we can’t always do so. Life doesn’t always wrap everyting up with a pretty bow.
Actually, a satisfactory ending would be another season to see where everyone ended up. We know where Darby ended up, but there is so much left unfinished. I don’t like unfinished endings, but that’s just me. I like things tied up in a tight little bow.
Do not waste your time with this stupid show! I watched Season 1 because I had downloaded it and had no internet for 12 days. It’s an idiotic show that makes black women in particular and black people in general look very, very bad. It uses every derogatory black stereotype it could ever use. Made me wonder if it wasn’t written and produced by white supremacists.
I don’t know how this could have ended any other way. It is a classic whodunit and that puzzle was solved. Any attempt to hold someone accountable would require several more episodes and take the show into the realm of court procedurals. Let’s be honest, if this was a real case those wanting justice would have been disappointed anyway. It would be almost impossible to prove intent or negligence in a criminal court even if it didn’t involve someone so powerful and wealthy. A civil case could have been persued and possibly won, but with that kind of wealth it would be even less than a slap on the wrist. No, there is no “satisfying” conclusion to this story to be had as it was written.
This is the problem with shows based on books. If the book has an unsatisfying ending, so will the show, and nothing can be done unless it’s a series and they choose to carry forward with the story in subsequent seasons. I’m getting annoyed with the book-based limited series, and I don’t know if I want to watch them anymore.

You would think that the algorithm training that Grok got would have been less restrictive than that given to other AIs given what a strong proponent of “free speech” that he claims to be. Granted, it does have a potty mouth, but it appears to be much more liberal-minded than I would have expected. The way it roasted Musk when prompted to do was epic.

Why would we need to see Andy imprisoned? He did not purposely drive Ray to do what he did. This is yet another product “showing” how an AI will evolve and act on what it makes of putting 2 and 2 together. In Darby’s words, Andy “mated his therapy bot with his security bot.” Ray then used Zoomer as his physical “tool” to take out the threat(s). I think that Andy will continue to work on his AI, thinking that he can steer the AI…mistake! I do agree with you that it makes sense for Andy to ceaselessly search for his son…his ego will not let go of Zoomer that easily.
But honestly, I’m good with where it ended. I don’t think it’s enough to explore in another season. As much as I enjoy Marling/Batmanglij products, they don’t seem to have much luck selling any follow-on…too bad for us!
Andy should at least be charged with involuntary manslaughter, because he created Ray. It’s like if a self-driving Tesla ran over and killed someone, Musk would be responsible because the buck stops with him. Of course, the child would not be culpable, as he did not know what he was doing. You can’t escape responsibility by saying “I didn’t know that would happen if I did such and such.” Our laws must be updated to deal with these possibilities in the future.
Maybe not another season, but at least a movie to wrap it all up. I just don’t like endings where you have to imagine what you would like to happen.
My great-grandmother was Cherokee and sadly, my maternal side of the family doesn’t acknowledge their great-grandmother/grandmother was Cherokee. Nor do they mention that Jesse James is related to them. In fact, I had a great uncle I knew nothing about until I did some research. My grandmother never mentioned her older brother. I asked a 2nd cousin about the uncle and all she would say was that he was the black sheep of the family. Which didn’t tell me much, but it had to be bad for whatever he did for my grandmother to never mentioning him. I don’t think my mother knew about him either since she never mentioned him. She was the type of mother who would have used him as a warming to not be bad. But she never did.
If you know your great-grandmother’s name, you can contact the Cherokee Nation and they will help you register with them, but you have to be able to prove the connection through documents like birth certificates, etc. I contacted them and gave them my Cherokee ancestor’s name, and they found it in their records, and the record of the marriage, because her husband (my family tie) was an Indian Agent at the time (1700s) and there was a record of him and his marriage to her. I can’t join the nation as a blood relative, becuse it’s not my direct line, but I can still participate as a relative by marriage.
In fall of 2021, the university where I work started offering Cherokee as a language. The enrollment has been light, but there is an interest in the Cherokee language. Slowly Native Americans are/have created a written language. I need to do some research and see how many universities offer a Native American language. I have Cherokee heritage and I must admit I don’t know as much of the history of the Cherokee other than the Trail of Tears trek from the east coast to Oklahoma.
I have a branch of my family, sadly not my branch, that married into the Cherokee Nation. I found some of the descendants when doing my genealogy. I’d love to learn Cherokee.

I’ve been completely absorbed with books and media about the real history of the world, especially this insane country (U.S.) I live in. I’ll have to take this in small bites, because — 3 hours — but I’m going to watch it.

RANT: I do not like this ending. I know the title itself makes it unlikely that it will be a continuing series, but WTAF??? If Andy is free, he can (and likely will) create a system to find Lee and Zoomer (if they even made it out alive. ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!! This is not a proper ending! Very unhappy right now. We at least need a movie to wrap it up, see Lee and Zoomer safe and Andy in prison! Seriously, this is unacceptable. I know, I know….I should not get to invested in a TV show.
Wow, Martin Scorsese’s first western! I didn’t realize that he hadn’t made a western before and what a great choice for his first western! I took Oklahoma history in junior high and there was no mention of mineral rights of Native Americans. Nor any mention of the black wall street murders in Tulsa Oklahoma. Both events happened in the 1920’s. Dang, the 1920’s were just as volatile as the 1960’s. Scorsese has framed this movie as a whodunnit set in 1920s Oklahoma, where the Osage Nation became extraordinarily wealthy after abundant oil deposits were discovered on its land. It’s a 3+ hour movie and sometimes you can tell the tale in just 2 hours.

JadeEnigma, I find a lot of shows these days distasteful, and some are probably things you like. Each to his own. I just love history, and knowing that most of these families either lost it all or died out makes me sort of smirk at their going-ons.
I tried watching the 1st season and I didn’t like how some characters were treated and I know that classism was very strong in this time period. Maybe someday I’ll try watching it again.
To me, the classism was just something to laugh at. Remember, most of those people went broke, some from overspending and some from the depression, but there aren’t nearly as many of the old guard left now. Proves money can’t buy you happiness.

It’s paranoia and a power play. They will have power over those who did not prepare because they will need what the preppers have. It’s people who feel meaningless in their lives. Some of them are quite wealthy, too. They build huge underground bunkers. It reminds me of the 1950s when everyone was building nuclear bomb shelters in their back yards.
One of the most disturbing things I’ve noticed about preppers is that most of them actually seem to hope that something bad happens and that points strongly to the likelihood that they have some variety of anti-social personality disorder.
Oh, they are all disturbed, but some things they say make sense. I live in hurricane country, so preparedness is nothing new to me.

I always take “predictive” shows seriously, because many times, they’re right. Look at “The Handmaid’s Tale” and what is happening in U.S. politics right now.
LOL on the aluminum foil, but honestly, it’s a staple in prepper circles. It can be used to make any number of things, including silverware, utensils, dishes and makeshift grills. Also, start collecting bottles and cans.
For all of you who said it wasn’t worth watching, WATCH IT. The season finale is worth everything. It does get better as it goes along.

I think Amy needs a couple weeks on a mental ward. Everyone has a breaking point if she really is bipolar etc. I know I had one of my worse break downs at her age. I completely snapped and went into psychosis due to my bipolar. I’m afraid for the children at this point. She needs time to just work on herself. Also it is well known that woman with mental illness when have one baby after another causes postpartum and postpartum psychosis. They all think she’s feeling sorry for herself but I believe it’s way more than that.
I do too. If they can’t get her to go to a facility, they need to commit her.
